I'm about to start flouroxetine (sp?), but for a week before and now since I've seen the doctor, I don't feel depressed. I don't feel happy, but I don't feel depressed.

I'm starting them on tuesday, but I don't know if I need them now. I also don't know if it's because I've recently actually started to have a love life again and that's making me happy. I know that I've gone from severe to mild/moderate depression, so maybe it's jsut because I'm used to being severe? If that makes any sense XD.

The thing is, I've also had periods where I've been happy or, as he said "An absense of depression" where I was so bloody energetic, confident, motivated and happy! at least sompared to my usual, and he said that because I know what it's like to not be depressed, I have the flouroxetine to get me like that, mostly for the motivation part (And, consequently, the happy and confidence part ).

I am going to take them anyway, because I knwo that last year I was better in Winter, and I'm afraid I'll start to sink again as winter leaves.

I just...I dunno XD

(((((( Melpomene ))))))

I would do what your Doctor suggests, he knows you better than any of us here. You won't have to stay on the meds forever though.

Mel,

I think it's a good idea to take the meds. You mentioned there wasn't a total absence of depression so the meds might just kick you into a normal phase. You also mentioned being so excited or full of energy at times, like overly happy. You might want to take a bipolar quiz or talk to your doctor about that possibility. You could have major depressive swings combined with milder manic episodes. My current bf will get depressed for a long period and then manic for a short one. Consider the possibility.

Love and Hugs,
Tara

I spoke to him about possible bipolar, he said he had to be careful diagnosing people my age, especially with hypomania, which is what I thought I had. He said he can only diagnose on hypermania behavior.

I'm gunna take them. Right now I feel so guilty, overly guilty for being honest. And I know that while I'm not as bad as I used to be, I'm not as good as I could be.

I'm gunan take them. If they change nothing, at least Ill know.

*hugs all*

Mel,

Glad your doctor is honest with you. If you keep getting manic you might want to get a second opinion. I know you're not too old but I've known people who were diagnosed properly at your age. It's so typical with bipolar to be incorrectly diagnosed. But you could not be too so gotta keep that option open too.

I love your signature, it's beautiful. did you create it yourself?

Love and Hugs,
Tara

I know. It's jsut hardbecause I saw him through the transitions servic who's dealing with my health and they've helped me - a LOT.

I'm hoping that if I am bipolar that the new medication will trigger somethign sso at least I'll KNOW. If it doesn't, I'm better anyway.

That sounds bad I know, but I can't help how I feel. And sometimes I feel that I want bipolar just so that there's soemthign wrong with me.

But sometimes I remember thinking that when I first figured out I was depressed (About depression. not bipolar), and I'm so confused.

*hugs* Thankyou for your support.

I put the writing there and that's about it. I think it's pretty too
