This day began fine knew that I was about to see my niece for the first time in five years and I felt good about this. My visit was fine but then I read the post "worthless" which reminded me too much of my own recent past and had hoped for a PM on a different forum which never came. So now I am sitting here lonely with too many bad memories which is depressing me. It does not feel good to suddenly crash.

Waiting for a PM that doesn't come can be quite painful - there's no getting around it. Everyone who is posting here needs more from life than we are getting. This world can be a very insufficient place.

I'm so sorry you've crashed! It's horrible when you go from feeling good to feeling rotten -- it makes the downswing REALLY hurt.

Can you do something to distract yourself? Maybe do something kind for yourself, like take a hot shower/bath, eat a favourite food, listen to music, read a book or watch a movie (NOTHING SAD!!!!) It's good to try and fight your way out of the hole -- even if you can't get all the way out, maybe try poking your head out just so you can see a little light.

Sending lots of hugs. Take care.
