Is this being caused by the depression or the meds? I could swear I've had them since before I started taking anti-depressants, but my memory is a little flaky on this. It's getting a little scary to see my hands shake for no other apparent reason.

Meds can definitely cause hand tremors. I have them all the time. When I stopped meds for 2 months they stopped shaking.
But, I have noticed when I am upset, they shake worse.

Please do check with your doc, especially if you are on an SSRI.
The tremors *could* be a symptom of serotonin syndrom - an excess of serotonin in the brain which can be very dangerous. Only a doctor can advise on this. I had this problem years ago. And the shaking was quite severe. Serotonin syndrom is a medical emergency.

Peace!
