Thick

This is something I never remember to ask the dr or therapist about - mental thickness. Does anyone else get this?

My mother did and it was so annoying. I do it too when too down. It is not med related, I don't think. It just comes on sometimes and lasts for a day or so.

It is like having molasses in by brain. Every move I make is so slow, even swallowing saliva is in slow motion. I talk thick, too, like someone who is drinking.

KV -- don't you think you should see a neurologist about that??

No. I am confident it is "all in my head." Besides, I had a horrible experience with the local Kaiser neurologist and never want to see that man again in my life.

okay, so go somewhere else! because if it's in your head, then the neurologist will find it!

Hi ! I am very new here and do not know you as yet. But this mental thickness you talk about and mom has it too. Can I ask how old you and mom are? I have it real bad somedays to the point people think I am really really drunk ( and these are family members who are just plain ignorant) I have MS, very slow progression of it with lesions on my brain. Can I ask also where you live and if mom has seen a neurologist at all? Sorry you don't have to answer but these can be important clues. MS is dx'd in lots of northern climates, much more prevalent for some reason, they are also finding that it can affect family members also, but that is not a definite yet.
