Has anyone been on this drug? I am just wondering what general side effects are. I took my dose the other night (this is my third night) and I am still feeling very... out of it. Sleepy. Almost flu like. I don't want to google side effects because then I will be told by doctors I am just working myself up, so I figured I'd see if anyone has had similar effects on this medication.

Have been on this since Dec of 2004.
Take it once a week by mouth for RA.
Your side effects are pretty normal, mouth sores, thrush.
Mod hair loss but not all by any means.
The nausea & diarrhea get better with time.
It has def helped the RA and for that I'm thankful.
Hopefully you'll get some relief from the pain & fevers.

Had to read up on AOSD & have tried to keep up with your post.
I do believe in God & pray. You have been in mine long before you asked for them in Spiritual forum.
You aren't as alone as you think.
A lot of people just may not know what to say, about a physical illness.
Please feel free to PM me.
Take care.

Thank you so, so much for both your reply and extremely kind words. I am feeling better and I found if I miss taking a dose of my folic acid (It's hard for me to remember since I take my meds at night ugh) I get dizzy and sick feeling. So remembering that helps.

Thank you for praying for me. I do not feel as alone as I did even a few days ago ((((hugs))))

You're welcome Teen Idle.
Meant to mention the Folic acid.
I take 1mg x2 daily and rarely forget, not worth it.
Ins doesn't pay for mine but thankfully it's cheap.
If you were denied SSDI don't give up!
At this point with your health it should get approved.
Got denied twice then took it to court & got approved in
17 days & checks started 2 months later.
Did it without an attorney & you can too.
I don't buy that crap about you needing to work longer.
Try talking to someone at legal aid in your city.
Am starting to rant/ramble. The maternal thing kicking in...
Take good care. :-)

I am on medicaid and thank god they cover both drugs because I'd be in trouble otherwise. I just took a leave from work because I am listening to my body and right now it is practically screaming "SLOW DOWN". So I am going to try to, even though it is frustrating.

I am going to re-apply for SSDI tomorrow and make sure to have a face to face meeting. I found it a bit baffling that they told a disabled person that they need to work more to gain credits even though I worked for years and years. I hope this time it works out, I need some form of income for gas (driving to doctors/physio), food, etc.

Thank you again dear

Hello! I take high dose Methotrexate every six weeks as a chemotherapy. It can make me feel a bit nauseous and sleepy sometimes, but doesn't appear to do much else to me. However, I've heard horror stories from other kids who have taken it. Some end up throwing up all day/night, have terrible hair loss from it, and some just sleep all day. Don't want to scare you, just what I've heard from others. Good luck with taking your Methotrexate!

It's good to hear you have minimal side effects! Honestly, with me, I sleep a whole lot and I do vomit a lot and get dizzy easily depressive, etc.

Ah, sorry to hear that. >.< That reminds me of a drug I had to take called Cytarabine; gave me a rash, made me vomit a ton, have chills and fever, and just made me want to sleep. It really is weird that the Methotrexate does next to nothing though, since a lot of people tend to have trouble with that one.
