No "walk" today. Very humid and I hate that. I did get my strengthening in under the bedroom fan, though. Maybe I will walk tomorrow. It's going to be cooler and drier. I am also hoping to go see my five year old nephew play soccer tomorrow. That is such a hoot. Way to cute and a,positive way to start the weekend!

So sorry that this CPAP machine hasn't been sorted. Exhaustion is wreaking havoc for you. No wonder you need your bed. Can you talk to your doctor and see if she can move things along?
Thanks for this!

Accidentally got my "walk" in today.Drove to my nephew's soccer game and had to walk down a big hill with the walker and then half way around the track to find my nephew's game. Thank God I found him comIng back from the rest room. I would have never found them. Four games going on at once. Watching 5 year-olds play soccer is funny.

talked to the doc's office, she's been out sick all week, no Rx's for blood work on file at the lab,,, talked to the agency that supplies CPAP's, they got my sleep study results, i failed... but they did tell me what to say to the doc to get a second Dx that will qualify me without the sleep study,,, O.O this has been going on for 3 months, because my old unit is not working well.....

sometimes i wonder if the marvels of modern medical science are really a gift or not~

My morning routine has a seriously big flaw; my spouse just came back from the doctor. He's been bleeding rectally all weekend. He has to do some tests and will be out of work two weeks! I am not against him being home at all where I can keep an eye on him, but my daily routine and that includes exercise will have to be re thought again. I am a bit worried that the doctor did not admit him. They think he has a bleeding stomach ulcer. How BP is low and his labs are on the low side also.

I feel terrible for him. He has to have a colonoscopy and an endoscopy on the same day. We are waiting to hear back when this will all happen. I hope it's this week.

Deejay-that sounds a bit worrisome, but I think the technology is pretty good to deal with it, so it will be all right. I think they would have given him transfusions if it was really bad.

Gus, fingers crossed that this will be sorted out and you will get a new CPAP machine soon. You won't know yourself with the new energy levels. You will be cooking up a storm and walking tall and proud.

Deejay, with the tests that your husband it having they should be able to work out what the issue is and fix it. Doing your planking exercises and strengthening exercise are still possible in your home.
Thanks for this!

when an incompetent doc thought i had an ulcer, she prescribed antibiotics and antacids. luckily for me, i know what's wrong most of the time, and didn't take them. i know docs hate it when we google medical issues, but i was under the impression that bleeding ulcers cause black stools, not blood in the water~ O.O

best wishes, and do keep as much of your routine as possible~! he's not going to need to be "watched", exactly, all the time... just make sure he doesn't turn white or cold~ gosh, i don't think i respect his doctor all that much, if everything is as you say, i agree he should have been admitted immediately for tests.~~!

His stools are pretty black and bloody. The doc called and said she thinks the bleed is worse than she initially thought so if there are a nylon black or other signs of blood at all we need to call her and then go right to the ER. Of course he is afraid to have a bm now! I think he down played the seriousness of this yesterday. I saw what the problem was and it looked quite severe. Hoping we can get through the night.

My husband has to learn he is 60, not 20 so something's have to change!

On the bright side did get some exercises in.

For today we are back on schedule. H is showered dressed and moving. I am moving, too! Got my exercises in and we are going out to supper minus the beer. That is out u til he heals. He does have two scope tests on Monday. Sunday is not going to well. H doesn't do well when he can't eat. He won't be able to eat until he gets home on MON. night. I'll have to think of something really good to eat. Of course a mushroom pizza is his favorite and he can eat a whole large one himself!

He is thinking he will go back to work on Wednesday, but I reminded him that depends on the test results. I am hoping the doctor will be able to tell him the results of both on Monday. He is not great at asking questions or advocating for himself, so I may go and stay for the four hours, if they don't agree to call me and tell me the results. Luckily at the beginning of April we signed representative papers for each other because the HIPPA stuff can be too much sometimes.
Hope you are doing well Gus and Possum and enjoying a sunny day. It's a very dry 80 degree sunny day here!!

Thank's for the flowers Gus! They are just beautiful!! I am not use about the life savers. The directions clearly say only clear liquids, but if it were me I would do life savers. He will follow those directions like he got them from God Lol!!

Hi Deejay. Chances are on Sunday your hubby will be focused on taking his 'preparation' to get himself ready for the procedure on Monday. He will also be otherwise occupied and not fussed about the food thing. I do hope all goes well over the next few days. Good to hear that you are getting your exercises in. Wish I had your motivation.

Yesterday my exercise was vacuming the carpet after it got some date scone dough on it. I dont normally bake. Today my exercise will be cleaning the oven and the bathroom.

The weather here is getting colder and we have rain. Yay! April has been so warm and dry. Last night I even turned the heater on. The wind is howling. Autumn has finally arrived.

Always love to see pictures Gus. Your possum is cute. Never thought of life savers being easily digestibles.
Thanks for this!

He's 6 ft and weighs 200#. He said he will do his best not to be crabby but nearly 48 hours without food..I would feel like a bear, so I can empathize. I told him I will not cook any food in the house on Sunday. I will be meeting my sister for "supper" as we call it here. I am a little worried as his Dad died from esophageal and stomach cancer at age 62. And Gus, I am buying him some life savers as a "just in case" he feels kind of desperate LOL

Don't k ow how I've done it but I managed to get chores and exercises in over the last two days...no routine to it..just being in the room where he isn't in order to get things done.
Oh God I can't wait til Monday afternoon. I have decided I am going to drop him off and then go back before they call so I can talk with the nurse about results..I am nervous because of his Dad's history with esophageal a nd stomach cancer. My husband is really private about his doctor visits even with me. I have always respected that " but times, they are a changin" Thank God he signed that medical representative paper last month.

If the results are not positive he is really going to be happy I am so experienced in advocacy. I look very laid back and easy going until I think someone isn't getting the care they deserve.

Enjoy the weekend!

Possum my big motivation for exercise is so I can keep walking and to feel less pain. I have found I need the weekend off to recover from five days of exercise, but if I don't keep up with it during the week I feel the negative effects i.e. significantly increased pain. So less pain is the biggest motivator, along with the blood sugar stuff, and continuing to be able to care for myself independently.

Hope everything went well with your hubby in the first phase of the preparation. I am pleased that you get the weekend off exercise. Can't seem to get out of my own way today. I have a blood test that was written out by my p'doc for a vit D check. Will go and get that done this morning.
Thanks for this!
