Since my life has been wrapped up in spiritual matters for sometime and since we had a question in spiritual forum that we just felt got blocked by someone being kind of aggressive, we were unable to come to terms with our mental illness and spirituality but today we heard the answer of sorts, to at least explain some of the questions we we have.

The story that was told is that there was a Dad and child and the child had lots of questions, as they will have, especially during certain stages of their growith and development.

The child asked: "Why is the sky blue?"

And the father replied: You have asked essentially two questions. Is the sky is blue? and Why?

The answer to the first question is: "Yes, it is blue". The answer to the second question is: "I don't know but God knows".

The story-teller went on to say this would be a similar answer to the harder questions like: "Why is there cancer?" "Yes, there is cancer and no I don't know why."

For us it would be, why is there mental illness and the answer, yes there is mental illnes and no, we don't know why there is, but God knows. Breaking down the question has helped me see more clearly.

My spiritual parts have had a very difficult time with this question until today and learned of this adequate (for now) response. And to say, we know we are an adult writing this but there is a connection because the story is to the child. We would say we know how this works but we don't, but God knows.
