I do know that it's a true story. But many of the exaggerations in that movie drive me bonkers :O. Like how she never seems to be in control of her emotions. How she's not capable of being normal, calm, self-reliant. Everything's an emergency with her. That's not how it is in real life! Often times you can't even tell when someone's DID (unless you know what to look for)!

I went to the bathroom (timing it with my memory of the movie's sequence of events) so I missed the whole part . That just woulda opened up a totally unnecessary "can-o-worms" in front of a class full of strangers (more or less).

yeah, though they did show times of sybil being in control of herself...like when she went downtown with her friend...going downtown was ok, it was just when they got down there she freaked out...but it could be that during the movie the directors just wanted to show the freaky side of her instead of the truth...they did tend to pop up one after the other without seeming to be separated events...plus the fact that a lot of psychology teachers even at the college level seem to think that DID is a "real" disorder, just something that people think up in their minds...the psych teacher I had was that way...and most of the other psych teachers were that way also...i wish they would not poke fun of people, but i guess that is where they are...we certainly didnt wanna draw attention to the fact that we have it...so we just said nothin an yet didnt laugh at her jokes but just shook our head...not a lot of people get the point anyway...we know that people here get it though...an we r glad...we dont hafta really stop an think before we say "we" an worry if people will understand...sorry...didn't mean to go on so...will shut up now...
