Until I was six, my family lived in a small two bedroom apartment. My three older brothers shared one bedroom.(bunk beds and a single)

Then there was my parent's bedroom, a living room, the kitchen and a bathroom. I barely remember living there. A tiny glimpse here and there. I never thought much about it until...ugh, therapy.

I asked my mother recently...if the apt. only had two bedrooms, where did I sleep until I was six? I don't remember, although we have home movies that show me climbing out of a crib that was in the corner of my parents bedroom. I was probably two.

My mother scrunched up her face, thought long and hard and said..."Geez, I can't remember."

I asked my one remaining brother...where did I sleep?

"I don't know," he said.

I don't have any real memories before the age of six. I never ever thought it was odd...until, ugh, therapy.

My T told me most people do remember those years to some degree.

How about you?

This may be a trigger.......

This is interesting. Because mother and dad did not sleep together. My older sister slept with my mom.. and my two older brothers and me slept upstairs in one giant bedroom.. I know this may sound odd, but when my father was home, he'd sleep with me. He slept with me till i was in the 5th grade. And NO, he did NOT do anything wrong..The counselor tried to say this situation was not good.. But he was wrong... I don't know why he crawled in my bed, because I was a bed wetter till i don't remeber when.

I seldom visit this forum, but when I saw the title of the thread, I read it.. Hope it is ok and that I didn't offend anyone...

Sorry Petunia, I truely understand well.
Maybe you were like we were. We slept anywhere we could find a place. Most of the time it was a spot in the floor somewhere. Makes me sad to even think about. I'm Sorry to know that someone else lived like we did.

It's Ok, don't need to be sorry for anything. It's Ok for me to be sad, it's something to be sad about. So don't worry. Turn those petals up. It's Ok.

It seems odd that this comes up today when I was thinking about where did I sleep? I remember trying to find room in one of my sister's beds and having the one three years older kick me out. I remember a small room by the parent's room when I was 5 and I was cold and found a rug and put it on my bed to keep me warm. I quess the sister's bed stuff was from way younger? I have trouble remembering.
