i just got the phone with medicare. it turns out after i was so tramitised back in 2007 that I was placed back on medicare part D. the only thing is that the address was back in michigan where we came from almost ten years ago.

to think about all the times we went to social sercurty to be told we did not have it, just to find out that it was under a different number which we think is our bio fathers but who knows. You would think that all of it would have been attached to each other or at least the people that we talked to would have been more forth right with info.

to think of all the times we asked if we could of had another number and they said nope. ya right what confuses us the most is why did they not update the address after all we had lived here in Az for at least 7 years before they had reinstated part D plan. oh well now the fun is what coverage am I suppose to of had and not received for the simple fact that we have not been there or talked with those we left behind after so many years.

We live in a different country and experience very similar 'inconveniences' with our government run medicare and social security facilities. My sister was gravely ill 2 years ago and almost lost her life. We needed her to be on welfare etc as she was totally incapcitated for a time. They were paying her in a bank account to an address that hadn't existed for 6 years from a place she hadn't live in for 7, despite us filling in a variety of forms all stating her current address and bank details. Amazing!! It took them three months to figure it out after we had to re-do all the forms another 2 times and the same mistake was being repeated!!! If it was in the private sector, I'm sure people would be sacked!!

Thanks for being here, we just got scared because we thought we were going to lose what we just got due to a computer eair or an alter that we did not know about.

as it turns out someone went into the archives and got our info from about 10 years ago. the soc number was from before our name and number change so none of us recognised it until we got to talking with the rep on the phone .

the good news it was on our current record but it was not on the main frame due to the fact that it was so outdated. so we can keep what we have and do not have to pay back anything.
~
the records showed that we had it since '07 but was not used due to the fact that we did not have a card nor where we able to get one. we had to pay cash for our meds.
~
we will know by tuesday if all the branches are on the same page or if we need to call and get a written letter to send to all branches to correct it again our selves. but that will be the easy part now that we know what is going on.

oh anderson, that is just awful! do you mean that for 3 years you could have had medicare part d for your medicines? i don't know if i understood you correctly.

do you have someone that can help you with choosing a Medicare Part D Prescription Plan? (there are many, a lot that have deductibles, some that don't) they should have sent you a booklet if you are on medicare.

I use AARP MedicareRx Plan through United Healthcare because it is only $39.70 a month / no deductible. and if i order generic meds thru the mail from the mail order department, they are each only $7 (copay) for a 3 months supply. but some name-brands have gone way up. (Humana is too high now)

also, here is an excellent SSA web site. there are links to everything at SSA here (including change of address info and how SSA handles that--or should i say "doesn't" handle that!)

a part of my three year night mare was that on record I was receiving social sercurty under an old number. according to rumor I had an alter collecting it and the others not knowing about it to... I /we were doing a realy good scam trying to collect to checks. I heard it both ways.

the high lights is each time i went to social sercurity office they would fix it. but the next day I would call or other doctor offices It would show that I was receiving it.

Today I went twice first time I got a letter stating that my current one I was not receiving it. But when I went to the people providing me with housing. we called to fix my med insurance. This time on both I was receiving but I had a letter stating that I was not. I went back to the office and I did not leave until I had a letter stating for each soc number that I was not receiving benifits.

The witch of the fact is that time I looked right at them and told them that either I get a letter stating no benifits or I go to a lawyer and get back pay to '07 the activating date stated that I was recieving it.

for the last two years I have been trying to get this fixed but it was not until state insurance gave me the policy number and activation date that I was able to get it in writing. I am going to call medicare and have them mail me a letter of benifits so that I can back pay if they do not approve me for current benifits. They after all have told me that even though on paper I had it No cash benifits have been given during this time spand.

I told one person that this was just as bad as identy theft. but this time it was the social sercurty office doing it to me. I have not been able to receive help for this simple fact. and now that I have not worked for the last two years and my son has been surporting me. It was just the last staw.

I am still mad about the last two years but to have it in writing and able to take it to the people that are helping me it has opened a lot of doors just to have those letter and I hope it will open the doors for my current application to go through.

i'm so sorry (((anderson))). that's awful. SSA is hard enough to deal with without all you are going through.

do you think maybe, after they have established that you do deserve the back pay and then start receiving your disability, you could have it go "direct deposit" into a secure banking account so you can keep track of it? (your bank can help you do that with a simple form) that's what i did.

you can also go (or have someone you trust) go to the SSA site and block anyone from getting to your account information (such as alters changing it). i had to protect my SSDI check so it would go straight into a safe checking account that way without any interference.

i pray you have the proof you need now. please keep posting how this is all going.

im working that one out. it is fixed so that I can only go into the office and fix it now but it would have helped me if the office would help us by telling us of the reasons why things are so difficult getting everyone on the same page.either way we are waiting to find an outsider that we can trust for now we are just having a safe person be with us when we go to help comfirm that we remember what happens when we go. we just got scared why tell us in the office that we are not receiving ssd but ssi then have our doctors and pharmacies tell us that we do. and this is under the same name and birth date. and at the social sercurty office they are hooked together. but when I call medicare they are seperate. just another fact that confuses us.
aahhh, just waiting they told me to give it a couple of days to be worked out but the letters are helping me feel some relief of the stress. my son has been surporting us the last two years so if we can we want to make right to him for all that he has done for us.

Just wanted to say were thinking of you...We know that just dealing with the ssi and ssd at least that is were we leave can be so freaking confusing cuz of the differences different offices paper work blah, blah, then to add the stress on top of what you went thru...So were just wish you a speedy fast answer to this so the stress level will be over for you ALL Biggest hugs if safe
