I just started working with a new therapist! She specializes with DID. I am so scared to open Pandorias Box. But I know that I have to. My nights are full of going through old memories/reliving some of my most difficult memories. I have body rememberence it is like living it all over. I am glad that I have a safe place to run to and feel safe.(this site). I feel safe enough to talk in here. My hands are sweating just writing this.

lilith,

What you are doing is scary, and it will be hard. But Im sure in the long run it will make you feel better.

This is a good place to be and lots of people help me with similar problems that you are having.

Im wishing you well and hoping to hear more for you.

Hi Lillith, Boy, if there's one thing I hate it's breaking in a new Doctor. Just the thought makes me sweat for you!!! I finally found a good Dr 8 years ago. Us'ns are very complex "cases", take your time, there's no rush. I feel like my shrink is just now starting to really "get" what I'm deatling with..... Keep breathing kiddo, you can do it. hillbunnyb

YOu are so lucky to have people who know what DID is working with you. I have had to read up because I have had so many people (mental health professionals) ask what it means. There was a note on my hospital file about possible DID and the psychiatric nurse actually said, "what is DID?" My counsellor brought up the possibility with me first, and mentioned it to me (I already suspected it) but she admits she knows very little about treatment. At least she has been reading up. She put it in my notes and my GP didn't recognise it. The psychiatric nurse who I saw with the psychiatrist dismissed the possiblity that I have DID, but I am beginning to wonder if that was because he too knows nothing about it....

grrrr, to quote fuzzy.

Anyway, you are SO lucky to be working with someone who knows how to approach it.
