Excellent! Enjoy it when it comes! I'm assuming snow doesn't cause chaos where you live... we had snow here a couple of weeks back, only a few cms and it was headline news because of all the travel mayhem it caused...

Oh, it causes chaos alright! The grocery store was so packed that I just about couldn't find a spot to park! The lines were horrible.

We'll be staying in. Snow!

It's coming down pretty heavy already and it just started about 15 mins ago! we're going to get as heavy a snowfall as an inch per hour or more! LOVE IT!

Woo hoo! I think we got 2-3 inches in just over an hour! Although I just talked to my hubby, who said that it's just horrible on the roads. A co-worker went about 1.5 miles and turned around to come back. It took him an hour! Yuck.

But I'm home and bundled up. I might have a fire in the fireplace and maybe a glass of wine. It's cozy.

Of course I'll be happier when hubby makes it home.

Have fun and stay safe, everyone!

Petunia, you can sit inside with me next to the fire. I'll get a nice sun lamp set up for you, and some hot miracle grow on the stove. Snow!

Its not coming down here yet. Its suposed to start at 9 and end around noon tomorrow. They say rush hour will be a disaster. Snow!

The dogs like to play in the snow. They are quite fond of wrecking snowmen. Snow!

hehehe Snow! The Petunias will always flourish around us'ns Snow!

GG--That sounds heavenly! We got about the same as you so far. We had to go and get the baby in this! Thank goodness for 4-wheel drives! We still went slow! I called the county sherrif on some non-thinking wrecker guy. Snow! We live on a very steep hill and the guy was taking up an entire side of the road (there was a car in the ditch) and just sitting there! He didn't pull into one of the many driveways to wait on whatever it was he was waiting on. He was making cars go off in the ditch more? Enterprising, me thinks? I called and so that someone could get it under control.

Anyhow, I'm sitting in a white wonderderland right now...cookies are coming soon! I have hot chocolate and marshmallows WITH the little drummer boy playing! ALL ARE WELCOME!

Carols anyone?

Everyone in line for the storm, be safe please! Sit and enjoy some cocoa/miracle grow with us!

Do You Hear What I Hear is my favorite carol! What are some other good ones?

Petunia, I love what you're doing with artwork recently as well!

Gem will be the official caretaker for the warm drinks. Snow!

We'll all be as snug as bugs in rugs. Snow!

This is a favorite too!

THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS

by Clement Clarke Moore

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;

And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,

Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,

Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow

Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,

I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!

On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!

To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!

Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,

When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,

So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,

With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof

The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,

Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,

And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;

A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,

And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!

His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!

His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,

And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,

And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;

He had a broad face and a little round belly,

That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,

And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,

Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,

And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,

And laying his finger aside of his nose,

And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

I love the snow. Except not one of my vehicles is safe to take on the road tomorrow when we are expecting a blizzard so I am borrowing a Trail Blazer and should see my girl fine. She is my youngest.

hey kd I am loving your response to the snow. We also love the snow except the drive.

We like to sit and watch the Christmas tree shimmer in the dim light. It is so quiet. Nice time to reflect.

Thank you for the positive thoughts.
