I think environment and upbringing and a bit of guidance does good, love doesnt need to be there but that helps too.

Im assuming dissociaiton since this is the dissociative disordered board. my thinking on this goes the other direction. I rely on facts like here in the USA as of yet science has not found a gene that causes dissociation. they have found the opposite - that every human dispute their environment, heredity, race and all that have no factors in a persons ability to dissociate. they have found dissociation is a completely normal thing to do and is a result of having a human brain that can think and imagine, process feelings and other senses. normal dissociation is things like daydreaming and using your imagination, since humans can daydream and use their imaginations they- psychiatrists, scienctists... - believe dissociation is a completely normal thing to do and it runs on a continuum from normal to abnormal and on into the disorders.. they also know love is a factor in it because those that are abused are the ones that learn how to use their dissociation skills to the point where they become dissociative disordered and no longer have any control over it. there are a lot of great books out there that explains dissociation. if you look in the resources thread many here have contributed some great books that talk about all kinds of things dissociation included. ![]() |
