got copies of the notes today.

feeling even more hopeless about the meeting

on the one hand they tellme it will be a joint assessment by the psychiatry and psychology consultants.
On the other they say it will be my only chance to ask and have answered the questions about why the treatment went so disastrously wrong for me.

I feel they have made up their minds. They know they will not offer me any treatment. They say in the notes they won't offer me any long term treatment (anything over 16 session - which in itself is long term for me) and that they won't offer me any assessment until I have had a 3-4 month break from counselling.

Im going to ask my T about this 3 month break thing. Ive never heard of it and i dont know why they are telling you this.

Why dont you lie to them, and pull out all the stops and go private for 3 months with a T while you wait on the hospital helping you. If they are going to play games, then play one back and go prvate while you wait. A counsellor would not know you were waiting on the hospital.

I dont know what other advice to offer as it seems like no matter what you do, they refuse to help.

Sorry to hear it's so hard for you, but it sounds to me like you might need emergency help. Have you thought about calling a hotline?

The Samaritans are a non-religious charity that have been offering emotional support to the suicidal and despairing for over 40 years by phone, visit and letter. Callers are guaranteed absolute confidentiality and retain the right to make their own decisions including the decision to end their life. The service is available via E-mail, run from Cheltenham, England, and can be reached from anywhere with Internet access. Trained volunteers read and reply to mail once a day, every day of the year.

Stay safe.

Thank you atg
It sounds like a good plan if I can find a way to make it work.
I might be able to access some free counselling through work - I will investigate. Maybe it is one thing I can do to stop myself feeling so helpless.

Thank you Petunia

I'm not suicidal at the moment.
If I am I will ask for help from my GP, counsellor, friends, Samaritans, whoever I can. But I don't feel that they have much they can offer that hasn't already been tried.
I have been totally honest with my GP aobut the specifics of my "plan" to help him to help me avoid the situation.
I'm scared. I have called the Samaritans before but they are there to listen - and what I need right now is some solutions, some ideas, some ways to get throught he system. Continually fighting it is so exhausting.
THanks for reaching out.

I can't believe they won't help you out! I mean they'll offer some help, but not what you need! I haven't heard of the 3 month break thing, either.

I'd definitely try to look elsewhere for some help. Suicide isn't the only answer. I'm sure there are other things out there to help you out.

Hang in there.

The UK "Health" Service ? certainly has ways of making you feel worthless, eh?

Been there done that trigger warning***mental health team notes***trigger warning

Still here though trigger warning***mental health team notes***trigger warning

I would pull out all the stops and try other options. Suicide is not the answer. You are worth the work!

This is not fair. Universal healthcare...doesn't that mean everybody gets the care they need? I really hope this gets straightened out for you, and I think the idea of seeing a counsellor privately is a good one.

I offer hugs if you want them, but you don't know me so it's ok with me if you don't want them.
