Some times when my alts come out in public (voice changes, sometimes a lot) I see heads turn and know that I am upsetting people.

I know that there isn't much I can do about it, except maybe excuse myself from the room.

Does this ever happen to you. Or am I alone in this?

I do understand. Instead of not talking when inside gets scared I stutter. Then people think I have half a brain.

Shall we not talk and sit by a camp fire??? Stuffies allowed.

I've had a few times when an alts behavior is so out of control it does really scare the person around me. Had to be held so not to end up hurt. It's scarey for the person, and It horrifies me to know that I was that out of control and I couldn't do anything to stop it.

Sometimes I change really quickly, two or three times in a few minutes and that can unnerve people that know me well, especially when I don't notice. That was actually how I started to figure out I was changing, from my friends commenting on how it confused and unnerved them.
Strangers notice sometimes when I'm walking down the street, or in waiting rooms. My little one comes out in public a lot more than he used to and I think that confuses people. He's usually very well behaved and lets the adults do the talking but he will say out of place things sometimes and his voice really sounds little. I can imagine it's surprising coming from a grown man with a greying beard.
