...do all of your 'parts' sleep? I wake up alot lately in conversation, complete sentenced are ongoing in my mind as I wake. I only started having this happen since around Christmas. It leads me to wonder whether all my alters are sleeping while I'm sleeping?

It is kinda creepy. I feel like I was just having a conversation with someone...yet it's nearly light out, no one is around, I'm only half awake and already in the process of getting up for the day.

It makes me feel freekish and feel like crying. It's exhausting.

...any insight??...

Dont worry, you're most definitely not alone, at least not in my book.
I think my alters are awake when I sleep, because I always feel just strange when I wake, and many times Ive woken up at 4 years old with a blanket and stuffed animal, crying and sitting on the floor.

Its not creepy, its just the way things work for us sometimes.

The day eludes me because I'm in and out so much..and night time is the hardest, all the small ones come out at night (not sure why) some very active...

Not alone Sprite

You make perfect sense! I also would do that. Sometimes I would hear myself crying in the distant background and I come forward and my pillow would be soaked with tears. I didn't realize at the time what DID was at all. It also freaked me out big time!

Keep on working to reach out to those parts of who you are. They need you.

before I was integrated I had protector alters whos job/purpose was to stay awake and keep this body safe. I would not only wake up in conversations but I would wake up to find I had been out in the bars all night, wake up in strangers homes/beds, wake up to find I am at a night job, night school, or have moved to a new location, find myself in a jail cell charged with prostitution.....

I have met many people with DID who have such alters that do many things in the night.

I'm sorry that you went through that, Amandalouise ! Thank you for sharing it, though.

Sometimes, on awakening, it's with such fear that there is someone there or that someone had been there. I lay frozen and have a check in my mind to orient me as to where I am and who's with me.

I often wake to parts of a conversation or a song or crying. It was always "normal" to me until my dx. Now I find it creepy.

For me it kind of depended what was going on in the present life, I think. When it became clear of the dx, but I was no longer acting out on those parts, if I can put it that way, then there was more waking up at the night time in the middle of conversations.

I take some steps now to settle everyone to sleep including holding a stuffie, using my CES device (if feeling rattled before I go to sleep), tucking myself in (sort of) and trying to meet the needs of other former parts that I think may be not settling.

I remembered when I first noticed this was happening and having mentioned it to my therapist. He didn't react to me in a strange way so I didn't react to me in a strange way either. All the best.
