Today in therapy I discovered why my left-handed fingers shake, why I have a distorted speech and my right leg shakes. It was incredible to meet The Worrier. She was brought out in therapy.

I will lay on the couch at times and my hand, leg and mouth will shake. I could not understand why. Well, today this part of me came forward and my T asked her about the three fingers moving rapidly. Apparently she has a Neurological condition that causes it.

After she went back, the tremors stopped. While she was out they were not troublesome for me as they are when they would come out while lying on the couch. It's like she absorbed the discomfort because the tremors are part of who she is.

This is very fascinating to me, but, that's only because it seems like it was surreal today to meet her. Does any one else have parts that suffer from physical illness or have maladies that are not present in the host? This could easily explain why I'm not able to get rid of the walker in the garage. It's been there for 'safe-keeping'. ????

Very fascinating indeed. I don't own a wheelchair but my one part is in a wheel chair and has several other issues. It's complicated to talk about but I just wanted to reassure you. I hope I did reassure you and not frighten you.

Hello Sprite,

I have something a little similar. I have a part of me that "shakes" me when I try to know myself or understand myself better. It always disrupts my thoughts and often makes me forget what I was trying to think about. I talked to my T about it, and his thought was that the "shaker" was really trying to protect me from something that I am not ready to handle yet. I had been annoyed at the "shaker" because it makes it difficult to do what I want sometimes, but now I realize that she is on my side and I should appreciate her efforts to protect me. So now I try to give her permission to do what she needs to do.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I wish the best for you.

Hunny~ you did not frighten me, but enlightened me. Thank you for your reassurance ! I do find this very fascinating because of the lengths that we have gone for ourselves to help and protect ourselves. It's amazing!

Roseheart101~ Thank you for wishing me the best; same to you, as well. It sounds like you have your good measures intact to handle what your 'shakey-one' needs. That's awesome !
