Recap: Recently starting seeing a new guy who I wanted to take things slowly with. Sophie had different ideas and sexted him. I came out to him about my DID and warned him that Sophie might try to sleep with him when he came over (yesterday).
So L came over yesterday and we had a nice night watching films and whatnot. Went to bed and then of course Sophie comes out. I asked her not to sleep with him, technically she didn't, she just did other stuff. He thought it was me of course, like she was really going to tell him it was her after I'd warned him she might try to do this. Sigh, I guess there's no real point in trying to go slow now eh? Also, some of you may know that I've been waiting nearly a year for psychotherapy. I had my assessment for that today. I explained my alters and my mood problems, and they said they don't think therapy is right for me because I'm in university. I just wanna slam my head off a wall. I've been hanging on for this therapy and now I might not even get it because they're worried it'll make me fall apart and fail uni. I would rather get help than go to uni! This stuff is ruining my life! Kaz x |

theres no way I can tell you to do this or do that because where you are what I wwould do would not apply... example like another poster stated my suggestion would be tell them how you feel..that you want therapy over schooling.. but in a place where you dont have the choice of whether you get therapy or not my telling you that would do no good because you have already had your assessment and the decision was made by those who decide who gets therapy and who doesnt. what I can suggest is first take time to breath, reground yourself so that those who make these decisions dont decide you are too mentally unstable for out patient mental health care, and schooling both.. next maybe you can look into what the process is for appealing the decision. here in the USA if we dont agree with our treatment providers, or anyone else in authority we have the right to appeal the decision. Here appeals are a process where you gather all your evidence that supports your views and meet with a neutral panel of people who were not a part of the first decision making process. then both sides in this case that would be you and who ever you bring in, and what evidence you bring in, against those that made this decision for you on the other side of the issue. each side presents their views and evidence and then the neutral panel of people make the final decision. Im wondering if England has a similar process for appeals. here in the USA we also have the right to a second opinion. that means if we dont agree with our treatment providers we can schedule with another treatment provider to get their opinion and whether they agree with the first decision for treatment. maybe england has something similar. worth looking into. here was what I was able to find ... http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/stress-...unselling.aspx http://www.mind.org.uk/ they dont have anything about appeals and second opinions but does have some links for things like free mental health care. in the first link it says if your GP wont refer you to therapy you can see another GP. that fits with USA's version of getting a second opinion. |
