I have an angry alter that until now I never thought of as being able to be in charge in the world. But he can. He does everything he needs to function in the world except he is very angry. At one point yesterday while he was driving he thought about wrecking the car. We drove home doing eighty to hundred miles per hour. He has been in control before but I hadn't remembered until yesterday. When he is in control he makes the decisions about what we do. There are a lot of us telling him what we don't want to do. I am not sure why he listens but I am also aware he doesn't have to listen and so is he. Now I am fearful that he will take charge full time. Is that possible?????? I don't work anymore so it is not necessary for me to be the one that people meet. I am afraid.

only your treatment providers and you can say whether your internal system of alters is set up so that alters take control full time.

with in my own internal system my alters took control when ever I was triggered by something. who took over when and for how long that alter remained in control depended upon what their job/purpose/reason for being was..

Example at one point I was in an abusive relationship, one of my alters stepped in and moved us out of that relationship, to another town and got us started on a whole new life. one day I became aware I realized 3 yrs has past. my treatment providers called this happening dissociative fugue, because I did not remember packing up and moving and living a whole different life as someone else. I of course because at the time I had no idea how why and why I was suddenly in my new life, moved back to my last home, luckily I discovered the abusive person I was in a relationship with had moved on to someone new so everything worked out ok when I moved back to "town"

There are many such examples in my life where an alter took over indefinitely because they were doing their job/purpose/reason for being in this body.

Again I cant say whether your system is set up for this kind of thing to happen, only your treatment providers and you can say whether your internal system of alters is one where alters take over full time.
