I'm starting to not feel very good again. I am sleeping 14-16 hours a day and when I am awake I wonder aimlessly around and don't really feel very grounded or with it and trail through time like it doesn't exist. It's 2pm then it's 7pm. What have I been doing?

only you can say what you have been doing.

what I can tell you is that I know many people that are feeling this way because of their depression. around here at the crisis center when the days start shortening and the colder weather starts coming in, we see a rise in people with these same symptoms because they have all kinds of depression.

I sometimes go through this because of my depression, and because of my bipolar disorder. when it happens with me I contact my treatment providers. they adjust/make changes to my medications and also remind me to use the tools I have learned in therapy like grounding/breathing exercises/keeping on track with my eating and sleeping because lack of nutrition, fluids and lack of or too much sleeping can also cause these same symptoms. they also check on my blood work because physical health problems like anemia, colds, flu's and other physical problems can cause a person to sleep a lot, and lose track of time, not remember what they are doing.. even drinking and eating too much junk like soda, candy and other sweets can cause this to happen.

my suggestion contact your treatment providers, they will know how to best find out what is vausing this, what you have been doing and how to treat it.

Nope not it. I know when I am becoming dissociative. It's important that I know so that I can ground myself. I was triggered by reading the Jaycee Dugard story. So it's going to take me a couple days to put my parts into safe places.

I'm not trying to be rude AmandaLouise and I know I've mentioned this in the past, but sometimes the things you say really throw me off, because they're stuff my therapist should be telling me. And since we live in different states and you don't know my background it makes it really difficult for me, because most of it is very off and sort of upsets me.

Lydia all I can say is that you know psych central does have the option to turn on an ignore button with in every members profile so that you dont have to get in your words "thrown off" and "upset".

I have suggested this to you many times as have the moderators to the membership as a whole when it comes to their attention someone is being triggered by other posters posts..

Psych central doesnt have a way for us to control who and what others post post to us, but we can control whether we want to keep getting upset, confused, triggered by who and what others post.

Ive done my part by choosing to remain moderated, and using that ignore feature when I am at a place where what others post trigger me. you have made your choice not to use that option so Im sorry I cant do anything about the fact that what I post throws you off or upsets you.

Im telling you things that your treatment provider should...again Im sorry but thats out of my control too, when you post on forum boards, no matter where they are, you take the risk of others telling you all kinds of things, even if its things your treatment provider should be telling you...

the only suggestion I have for that is maybe you can consider talking things over with your treatment providers before you post, that way you will have your treatment providers views on things and it wont be such a surprise when you get replies on the boards that you feel should have come from your treatment providers.

as for the part about me not being where you are and all...you are right, Im not in your location and I havent been through the identical trauma by the identical abusers you were...

if thats what you are basing whether a poster can help you or not, Im sorry to say you wont find that here or anywhere, there is no one that has been abused by the identical abusers in the same idential way you have been in your identical location...that is unless its a sibling that went through it right beside you..

but that doesnt mean people on psych central/ me or anyone else cant understand and and cant let you know that you are not alone..

Dissociation is a normal things therefore problems associated with dissociation are within all kinds of mental disorders, physical challenges, even stress related or medication related..

that means I may not carry the diagnosis of DID now because my alters were integrated but that doesnt mean I dont lose time, have memory problems and all that with my other problems of depression, depersonalization, derealization, bipolar disorder, MS, medications, work stress, ....

my point of my post wasnt to upset you, it was to let you know you were not alone because I sometimes go through it, and those I work with go through it, and to let you know how I and my treatment providers handle it when it happens to me.

I usually like to work things out with people, instead or blocking them, but rather then have you talk down to me the entire time, like you're better then me, while I sit here and take it. And since we've been through this a few times and it always leads to the same path of me being the stupid person who doesn't take care of herself and you being the hero who is giving the support, I think I will take your advice and block you. I am here for peer support. Not a therapist. I have one of those.
Thanks for this!
