Hi all. i just found this site last week and have contemplated posting a new message. I took a look at the recent postings but it seems like everyone is upset at something and i feel really badly trying to join in if this is a bad time...so I will leave it up to you. I would really like to, I'm going through the same stuff and could really use the support since I don't know anyone who has the symptoms that i do. Anyway, I hope everyone is having a peaceful thanksgiving and hope it's OK to hop on board. Take care, Susan

Welcome to the forum. Of course you can join. There may be some issues going on, but it is being taken care of. You are welcome to come for support. Things will calm down soon and get back to being the way that we all want it. A peaceful, happy family that we can all share, support, and have fun.

welcome to PC, susan. hello

Yes, families sometimes have their difficulties and have "growing pains". We're coming out of one of those times.

I'm glad you're here and hope to hear more from you soon. You'll find good support and understanding here. hello

KD

thank you so much woundedhearts. being that it's t-giving and there's people coming over, i am feeling very detached and unreal and just needed to connect with someone who knows what it's like! sometimes the "selftalk" just doesn't reach me at all. I keep waiting until the day is over so I can just be without the stimuli again.
thanks again. hello

Susan,

I know that this can be a very difficult time for so many out there in the world including here at PC. Self-talk can be difficult during these times and even just regular times. Remember to breathe and try to enjoy yourself as much as possible. Remember that the times now is much different than the times when we were younger and going through the really horrible times. I don't know much about you and everything so not really sure if saying that is going to help. Not sure how long you have been away from it or if it continues, etc. Know that you aren't alone here at PC. Welcome again and hope to talk to you again soon. I'm going to a friends and won't be back until tomorrow. Peace be with you dear one.

Hi and Welcome hello

Sometimes I have a problem with negative self talk too but when I took a couple parenting classes and an anger management class I was taught to write down every time I did any negative self talk and then write three positives for each one. That really helped me to cut down on the negative self talk. maybe it can help you too.
