Sometimes, I have noticed that I will suddenly begin staring into space and even I am unaware of it. On one occasion recently, this was quite embarrasing and everyone started basically looking at me like I was a freak. I essentially spaced out and didn't even hear what people were saying, like I did hear them, but I went elsewhere for about 10-20 seconds. I know obviously this is something I need to get looked into but I was wondering if this sounds neurological or psychological in nature because frankly I have been dealing with this for years and it's very difficult sometimes

Edit: I couldn't really hear them at full volume, it was almost as if the volume of the room had been turned down and it was just me and my thoughts, it was pretty weird yet I could easily have gone unaware of it like it didn't even happen.

Im sorry but only you and your treatment providers can say why this is happening to you. what I can tell you is what you posted.....in general ....can be just about any mental and physical health and normal too for some people. if you google your symptoms you will find millions upon millions of physical health, mental health and normal situations this can be...

what I can also tell you is what you posted in your profile....Autistism spectrum disorder, ADHD/ADD, Schizotypical personality Disorder, Depressionfor for some people does show itself with the same symptoms you posted about.

with in me the things you posted would be called pychosis, (losing touch with reality/reality testing does not remain in tact) , medication side effects, dissociation, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, MS and many others too due to my own mental and physical health and other accompanying symptoms.

my suggestion if this continues to bother contact your or a treatment provider in your off line location. they can help you get evaluated for all the mental and physical health issues that cause this. They can also tell you whether this is because of your already existing mental disorders or medications or something new.
