I'm new to all this, and yet, apparently not.
Any pointers for warming to the idea of not actually knowing who you have been for decades? It makes me tired.

I don't know that I have good pointers or anything, but I can definitely relate. It's a scary thing to come to terms with, but for me, it has gotten less scary and overwhelming over time. It's just a different way of relating to yourself and the world.
Thanks for this!

Thank you for that. Considering it merely a different way of relating feels nonjudgmental. I like that.

Hey there...wish I could give some good ideas but as geis stated, but I can too relate to that. It has taken me on a journey which in many ways was scary, but worthwhile. One of the big things for me was to realise I survived, by developing this thing to enable my survival. You and the gang are heroes, but the time has come when the old ways of Coping are no longer the best ways for NOW.

My very best wishes to you.....
Thanks for this!

Hi flockpride.

When I was first alerted to the presence of DID it was very hard thing to accept. It was on my mind for ages. It is what it is. The best advice that I got from anybody was just to have patience. Don't try to force things to happen.

It is a journey that just continues. Find a therapist who knows what they are doing and one that you feel very comfortable with.
Thanks for this!

Took some time to look at this site. Especially appreciated the videos. Thanks for the reference, Starry_Night.
