We're sitting here in our "play room". Our host is 54. But we have a room with the computer, music, books, watercolors, dolls and other things that she's collected.
We have a part that wants to write.
We have a part that loves to read.
We have a part that's interested in building a website.
We have a part that likes to journal.
We have a part that does creative writing exercises.
We have a part that wants to begin painting with watercolors.

But we can't concentrate. We just sit here and stare at the computer getting nothing done.

Does this ever happen to you?
How to you conquer it?

I feel like everyone wants to do everything at once and it confuses the heck out of me.

Hi Muffy,
Mass confusion seems to be a theme with me at times also. There seem to be so many thoughts going on in my head and they all take a different direction. Then sometimes, we're all going on about the same subject or concern.
Sometimes I'll read the same thing over and over again without any comprehension. Sometimes people talk to me and I can't grasp their words.

I guess when things get like that, I try and reground myself, or find a place with as little stimulation as possible and use some imagery to settle things down, or journal because if everyone is upset and excited, then I feel that something is needing attention. They are usually triggered about something so I make a note of it and talk to T or work on finding a resolution for it, even if it's a temporary bandaid.

Good Luck, Songbird

Have you tried mindfulness exercises to help focus your attention?

They could help...
