I still listen to CDs not much into MP3's or my smart phones, both seem to be smarter than me

My Favorite Musical Artist is Enya..... so many of her songs touch my soul, but no more than Evening Falls...it describes me so perfectly in so many ways.

Here are the lyrics

"Evening Falls..."

When the evening falls
And the daylight is fading,
From within me calls
Could it be I am sleeping?
For a moment I stray,
Then it holds me completely
Close to home - I cannot say
Close to home feeling so far away

As I walk the room there before me a shadow
From another world, where no other can follow
Carry me to my own, to where I can cross over
Close to home - I cannot say
Close to home feeling so far away

Forever searching; never right,
I am lost in oceans of night.
Forever hoping I can find memories
Those memories I left behind

Even though I leave will I go on believing
That this time is real - am I lost in this feeling?
Like a child passing through,
Never knowing the reason
I am home - I know the way
I am home - feeling oh, so far away

Hello Lady Lindsey: Thanks for sharing these lyrics! I hear ya (no pun intended!) I still listen to CD's. I don't even own an MP3 player (I'm not sure I even know exactly what that is!) I also don't own a smart phone. (Don't want any gadgets around that are smarter than me!)

I do have a YouTube channel. And I use my YouTube channel primarily as a site for collecting videos containing music I like. (I often listen to these playlists while I'm here on PC.) One of the playlists on my YouTube channel contains the music of Enya. I'm a fan.

Another playlist I have, on my YouTube channel is of the music of Jane Olivor. Are you, by chance, familiar with her? She's an older person now. Perhaps she was before your time (?) She is / was more of a vocalist not a songwriter. However, from my perspective, when she was at her best, there could not be a more expressive vocalist...
Thanks for this!

I am old enough, but probably was not old enough then to appreciate a true Vocalist, I will you tube search and listen to some of her music.
thanks for recommending her.

I also listen to Enya from you tube while I am on the internet... sometimes at work when I am working on a tough report and need to clear my mind, I listen as I work also.

This gives me an idea for an ongoing Thread (not that I'm going to post it...) But there could be a Thread where members could post their favorite song lyrics (or portions thereof...)
Thanks for this!

What a great idea. Maybe you could add something like... favorite song lyrics and why?

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
