I experience and sense that deep within me is a core of "ME" needing to escape. I have often stated "My soul is trapped in the wrong body." Not to be misunderstood in a Sexual Identity Disorder sense. I feel like my core is my truth and wants "OUT" of this body. I was diagnosed Bipolar 1 with GAD and OCD. I described this to my psychiatrist...he suggested I see a therapist as it sounded like a self esteem issue. I have experienced this my entire life and would like someone to comment on this please. Is this apart of what a person experiences with depersonalization? I feel I have another diagnosis and want a better understanding of this issue. Thx so much. CJ

different countries have different standards of what is depersonalization or not...for example in this link you will find information of what america treatment providers go by for what is depersonalization here in my location....
http://forums.psychcentral.com/disso...s-dsm-5-a.html

to find out what the criteria\symptoms/...are in your location you will need to contact your own treatment providers. they will be able to explain depersonalization to you according to the standards in your location and also explain to you why you are diagnosed the way you are.

Thank you for sharing this experience with us.

I can imagine the feeling of wanting to escape if you feel that your soul is trapped in the wrong body.

May others who have Dissassociative Disorders come forward and offer personal input.

Thank you for sharing this.

I'm not a professional but I do sympathize for your condition hun. Only a qualified professional can best answer your question over asking for an online diagnosis. I hope that you find your answers, but maybe somebody here can share their experiences.
