What is inside that cloud that is bothering you - would it help to let it out by writing a post? Know that no matter what you choose to do... it's worth it to fight for your dreams. So don't give up.

Still stuck. No outside voice. It's like I'm banging my hands on a huge sheet of glass and yelling but nobody can hear me.

Nightmares. Always nightmares.

I'm scared I will hurt people with my voice.

This will sound strange but I have had similar moments. What helps is when I clear my throat. I make a sound by clearing my throat. When I hear it I realize it is me making the sound. I realize nothing bad happened. And than I say a work and I am back. I have never understood why that happens. I know at the same time it is happening I am often thinking that I must be very still and quite. But once I hear my sound and know that nothing bad happens I feel relieved and say a word. Than immediately start talking out loud amongst ourselves. I hope this might help.
Thanks for this!

I tried clearing my throat Clarity. It wasn't a quick process. Like trying to start a a very old lawn mower that is blocked. A day later my voice is mostly normal for now at least. It would seem that my throat was in spasm for a long time. It doesn't seem to move far away from that state.

More switching today......... The joys of DID.

I am glad to hear you are a little better. One other time when I couldn't talk I went to the doctor. I had to write notes to explain what was going on. He said I had acid reflux and when the stomach acid comes up and hits my vocal cords it causes them to spasm. He was right. Once I started an over the counter antacid the problem stopped. But that was not the same as when I couldn't talk because I was thinking I needed to be still and quite. Two different things. When I had the problem with the antacid I couldn't clear my throat. I couldn't make a sound. According to my dr I am one of many people who have this issue with stomach acid. Take care.

Oh I forgot to include. The stomach acid also caused me to not breath when my vocal cordes spasm during sleep. I would wake up in a panic because it felt like I couldn't breath. I had that for about a year prior to not being able to talk. The antacid really does a job on your digestive system and vocal coards. Another thing that helped was when I started taking an anti anxiety medication, stopped drinking whiskey and changed my diet away from foods that upset my stomach. I am trying to take better care of my body. We are trying our best to work as a team.
Thanks for this!

I am in the process of weaning off klonolpin. I would not be overly impressed if that is the source of more anxiety that sets off the throat spasms. One day at a time..........

It is probably the cause. If you've been taking klonopin for a (not necessarily) long period of time, its withdrawal is going to cause the symtpoms you mention, even if you gradually wean off it.
I wish you the best on your process of quitting klonopin
