Hello,I'm wondering. Assume you have an alter that's a five year old little girl. All she wants is to be loved by a father, that treats her well, is kind to her and buys her chocolate. And she makes these things know. Let's say, she says she's afraid.

Is it possible that a male alter might exist to tell her that he'll keep her safe and make her happy?

This conversation played out in my head a few times today. Her fears varied, but he promised protection and happiness each time. That made her smile. I FELT her smile, her joy. Hell, I smiled, too and I swear I heard a giggle.

Is this possible?

Or am I just making this up in me head?

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Yes, We have guardian alters that protects against outside and inside abuse, and us against ourselves. My "bad" (those that want to harm the system and others) are under guard. They also protect us weaker alters from others and ourselves. They do their best but some do escape, especially if some injustice is feeding their anger.

Absolutely. The system wants to continue to exist. We've learned to do that we need protection provided by alters with more experience. We have an adult alter who has laid down rules for the younger ones. A young alter is not allowed to come out when we are driving the car for example. A 'motherly' Alter provides a safe environment for coloring, listening to their concerns & complaints even if it's just they haven't had ice cream lately. May even point out to the one driving the car that we're passing an ice cream shop😂. Protection alters are there for older ones too. The feeling that a certain individual or situation is not safe and that we should leave.

I'm sorry, believe me or not, but I have guardian alters that protect us. It might not be normal, but they do.

Thank you so much for all the responses I've received on this thread. It's really helping us learn about our system. .

I'm starting to think our Angry One is a protector because he's triggered everytime one of us feels attacked. Y'all have met him several times, I know that.

Idk, but he's like always ready to pounce. He gets scary at times, it's just we feel so out of control that lines are crossed and that he doesn't stop.
