I once forgot the month of August 2009 and part of September 2009. When I looked back at my planner I didn't remember placing stickers all over the place. Then, I kinda remembered just playing with stickers. In the beginning of 2009, I forgot a few years. I thought it was 2005 before I met my son's dad. Then, I would forget that I had a son when I wasn't around him. I also sometimes feel like I am in a dream. Is that sleep walking or dissociation? What kind of dissociative disorder would this be?

sometimes even just prolonged stress, sleep deprivation, depression, anxiety, meds, etc. can cause forgetfulness.

as for dissociative disorders, part of it sounds like it could be derealization (things don't feel real/like a dream).

there could be many factors and it not necessarily be a dissociative disorder too though. you are probably best to ask a doctor.
Thanks for this!

Im sorry but we can not tell you what this is in you. if you google these problems you will find that they can be anything from normal to any number of medical problems and any number of mental problems.

the only way to know for sure what this is, is by contacting your own treatment providers, they will be able to look at your history and they can explain to you why you are diagnosed with what you are diagnosed as having. for example for some people this can be part of their meds, schizophrenia or even just stress, or lack of sleep.. please contact your treatment providers. they can help you with this.

You know sweety, I'm no expert, but you can dissociate (everybody can) from a period of life because you just can't accept what's happening, but do go through with it, like closing your eyes and jumping into a pool of cray cray, you know, like going through the motions.

If this happens all the time though, please consult your treatment provider.

My best guess, I guess.

Just to add, drinking and smoking (dope) like when I was younger had the same effect (even though I was screwed from the get go) ...not to say you are...just saying.

If this is a lifelong ordeal, then it just can might be a disorder, but as an isolated incident, totally possible as an isolated episode. I'm no shrink, just guessing like I said. Be well
