My name is Gene. I am the protector of LA-ML. There are things going on that me and the other insiders do not like. One of the housemates is always being mean and not caring who she hurts. LA-ML is very afraid of her. This housemate has already attacked one of the other housemates twice. First time she nearly cut the housemate's finger off by slamming it in the door. The second time she slammed the housemate's head into the wall. The staff do nothing about it other than make her go to her room. But five minutes later she comes out and they can not force us to stay in our room. This housemate is always saying that we have stolen tobacco from her and pop. Or at least that is what she is saying about us today. Thing is is that she has two locks on her door that she keeps locked at all times. Only she and staff have keys to her lock. I am pretty sure this housemate is stealing tobacco from us.
I don't know who to turn to because staff do nothing. LA-ML is afraid to stand up to her and so am I mostly for LA-ML's sake. Does anyone have any ideas of what I could possibly do to make things better for us. I mean we talk to our T and our crisis advocate and they get upset for us. Staff tease LA-ML when we let them know who they are talking to. So we made the deal with our T that we would only talk by email and if she thinks she needs to tell someone at our group home that she will call and not tell them who emailed her. And that after each session she will make sure that LA-ML is the one in control.
Thanks,
Gene

here in the USA all foster care homes, group homes, mental facilities have to have state certifications and is over seen by governing agencies where complaints are investigated against those agencies\group homes/foster homes. based on your location on your profile here is the link where you can report what is going on in your group home/facility. they will take your statement and do an investigation. if according to your states standards for for staffing allowing abuse/neglecting the needs of those in residence and not protecting the residents from this abusive housemate this governing agency will see to it that changes are made in your group home to ensure your safety or the home will be closed down and all residents will be moved to better group homes that do uphold your states standards for ensuring all residents safety and well being.....

I would certainly try hard to find another place to stay. It appears others are allowed to harass you, which certainly the staff should know about by now. I'm Did, too, and it's so much harder when outside stuff you can't help is added on to the inner trouble.
Thanks for this!

she has locks... can you get a lock or two also? and can you get your system to stay around others or staff when out of your room? I live in a madhouse myself - "behavioral housing" - the only thing different between this complex and a psych ward is that people can come and go as they please, and there's no staff.
hoping you will be ok.

I do not want my house to close down. I am thinking about emailing the owner of the company or talking to someone else that can do something. I have lived in the same house for almost 6 years..3 years with this company. WHICH is WAY better than the old company.
I just feel so conflicted. Thank you for your replies. I have a lot to think about.
Thanks for this!

I talked to the house supervisor and she said that their hands are tied until she actually some how injuries one of us. I just posted that last night she punched a staff in the back of the head so hard that I guess she fell to all fours and had to go home. I emailed the owner of the company and told him how I feel if she comes back cause she is not here right now. I think charges should be filed against her. She is in the hospital as far as I know. And I pray that she does not come home...Sorry but it is the truth.....

Say sweety, it sounds like you have awesome ethics and haven taken all the necessary steps towards the remedy of this dramatic irritation.

At least everyone's aware. Hopefully the line will be obviously crossed and things go the way they need to go. Until then, be careful, watch your back, and stay righteous. . Luv
