OMG, I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about, where 2-3 others are trying to do a forced take over and there is a measurable amount of resistance from the present occupant. It's the weirdest feeling in the world! Ugh!

An inner struggle that sends shock waves through the mental and physical, sometimes I feel totally nauseous when they try knocking me off. It almost appears like we are having convulsions, but not so violent looking.

Usually it's seamless, like when it's a triggered response, but when it's just because an other wants out, it's like an inner argument takes place and a battle of wills begin.

Do you all experience this?

nope I never had this problem. all my alters had their own jobs, purposes, reasons for being as such they automatically knew when they were supposed to be in control and when not to be in control of the body....

Thelma was my intimacy alter so she only came out when those issues had to be dealt with.

rainy was my depressed/crying alter so she only came out in control of the body when those issues needed to be taken care of

Sunny was my alters that was in control during happy, times....

each one of my alters were like this with their own way of being, what their jobs purposes, reasons for being created were and they interacted with the inside and outside world accordingly.

my treatment provider told me this was pretty standard and was covered as part of the diagnostics because it was such a common thing with DID.

my suggestion when these kinds of battles happen look at the situation and see if maybe those alters that are battling may have something in common with why they need to be\want to be out in control. it may be that they share the same emotion, share the same job, or share other things in common with each other. its not uncommon for someone to have two alters than handle the same emotion, events, feelings, what ever caused the one in control to back off (dissociate) so that others can take control. Once you know that information it will be easy for the system to work itself out again to where they are taking turns \revolving door or what ever you call it in your location.

yesssss. I do... 22 has been fighting me for position of "main front person". I keep denying her. Not that I'm the first to hold that position.... I think I'm the 3rd. I think I was "observer" before. Which means I have less insider information than I did... but also less knowledge of the outside world and seem more ditzy than the original occupant. (22 tells me no, you dolt - that was me standing in for the completely clueless original host and I STILL would do a better job as front person than you).

Yes. Everyone else thinks that they can do a better job when it takes all of us to come across as complete.

Everyone here is pretty well developed and strong, so it's not like we have a power hierarchy. The males used to have run of the body, but we fems have stepped up since being recognized.
