Have you all ever created alters that take on the personality of real live people that you find intriguing? Or is it possible? I've heard of others saying they did.

My experience was that when I was in the hospital for a break down, I met another girl that roamed the hallways. She was real nice, and then when we're done chatting, she went into her own world. She had her own walk, posture, aura, I couldn't quit watching her because it was like intriguing. After a few days, we were behaving and walking like her! I had to put a stop to it!

Anyone else a walking Xerox machine and is this possible?

here in my location when this happens its called an introject (which is a type of alter but slightly different than having a dissociative type alter) I had a few of them. some took on the personality of my abusers, others took on the personality of a cartoon character or the personality of an actress/actor that was in the time frame of when they were created.

We have a couple. One of the teenage boys is just like my dad, even similar looking. One of the adults is named after and looks very similar to a mother on an old television show who we wanted to be our mom.

Me too. Sometimes I make alters from different people just to get through something. Like in conversations for instance, I find it easier to talk when I take another's personality and use it because I myself is reeaaaallllyyy not good at words and being social is very scary. This is why I don't say anything, also I just feel like they're judging me. I never say the right or funniest things ya know.

Several of my alters where created from real live people. Yes, I do understand how embarrassing it get to copy someone, just because their in your system doesn't mean you have to copy them. Some of it could be influence from insider or also an attempt from a handler to call up an insider ...

Totally get you! Yes, it is possible I have several that were created from real people! Guess what though I don't worry about what people think if I copy. At the same time yes if I'm consciously are aware of it then if it bothers me the host then I will want it stopped. If it seems like a part of switch from whom ever is in charge, then I let the process happen naturally and just know it goes with the territory.
