I've been bouncing all around lately, and have been getting headaches a lot from it.
Does anyone else find that pain meds don't kill these headaches? Anyone find anything that works well for it? Maybe its because all I can take is tylenol. Maybe its just not strong enough, or maybe its because its a different kind of headache. I try relaxation, but for me that leads to dissociation which kind of starts the cycle again. ![]() Maybe I'll try head on, apply directly to the forehead, head on, apply directly to the forehead. Okay, I wont go on with that too long. ![]() ![]() Well, Even with the headaches I feel a little better today. ![]()

Yes, I think you're right that the headaches could be from dissociating; a different kind of headache. But even with that, perhaps what you are experiencing is someone having a migraine? Have you tried migraine meds?
Attitude is part of this I think? I wish you could be more comfortable with dissociating, and allowing meditation to let what happens happen. When you become upset with the results, that probably adds to the headache dilemma? (((Hugs))) If you're finding you're dissociating more, then you probably do need to slow down and reduce your activities. It might mean that there's too much going on for your system, maybe even going too fast in therapy etc, covering too much material or trying too hard to understand everything at once. ![]() It's all ok: it's all you.

I don't know that they are migraines, but maybe. They are bad headaches. I haven't tried migraine meds before.
I wish I could get more comfortable meditating or doing relaxation work. It just frustrates me for the most part. Thanks for answering. ![]()

I can't do it either Gem. I'm too paranoid that someone will sneak up or do something, lol.

Ok, I know this is going to sound really weird, but sometimes when a headache or migrain starts if you will open the freezer door and breathe in the cold air through your nose the pain will go away.
Also, if you want to meditate, go in your bedroom and lock the door. Turn the ringer off on your phone and let the machine catch messages. Use nice candles or whatever you like to help relax. Jan ![]()

I get headaches too from being dissociated. Ive been told that this is normal and one of the symptoms of having DID that most people with DID have. my psychiatrist told me there is no medication that will take care of this. he told me the only thing that will help is my learning how to do grounding stuff and relaxation stuff so that when I notice I am starting to get upset I can do them BEFORE I end up dissociating. If I don't dissociate I won't have headaches. So I have been working with my therapist and doing research here at the library on grounding and relaxation stuff and have been using them and it works for me. The less I dissociate the less I have been having headaches.
