Ok i finally made a account here, because i have been looking at this forum for awhile. I have not been formally diagnosed yet with DID, but my boyfriend has reason to believe i have 8 different personalities and due to abuse as a child/teen , i believe its true. I have 8 names , 8 different looks, both clothing wise and facial expressions. I suffer lost time, i dream other alter's dreams, and i often can sense the other alters thinking things. i have also been harmed by two alters for not being my mother's idea of " perfect" even though i have not lived with her for nearly 3 years now. I have huge gaps in Time, i dream and do not realize its only been a hour, it feels like days to me.

I guess this is a good start. Thank you all

Hi! I said "hi" in the other thread, so...it sounds like it to me!

You know, a multiple can "know" that they are multiple, much like one would know a broken arm is a broken arm if they are co-conscience enough to recognize it and be receptive to it. Of course, there are other parts that can be so totally in denial that it's totally not real let alone impossible and that any thought of it would be "just crazy", even when it's more than obvious and evidence is presented (we've still a few of them).

We don't so much have "missing time" in the form of "blackouts" from an amnesia barrier, but more like from missing memories. We experience the present as a collective, but memories fade off to a dream and then blank with the other that experiences them. This causes holes and blank spots in our timeline and memory. It's like I'm missing a lifetime (the body is 47), but I feel much much younger than that. If anything, time speeds by us. I have no concept of real time.

Sometimes it's Monday then Wednesday then Saturday....I pretty much call it time jumping. It's like I don't have to wait long for a movie to go from theaters to cable or dvd anymore! Or the next episode of a must see series to happen! Lol

Ones got to keep a good attitude about all this or shoot me now! :P Nah, we got others that really truly hate this that makes their presence felt every now and then, but that's to be expected.

Glad to meet you!
