So we just had a session with the psychologist. I think it went well. We originally went because Scar was suicidal but it was because of Noah and since Scar was suicidal and depressed because of Noah and Noah is a part (as unfortunately it is) of the system so we had to say something.
I think it went pretty well though none of us really feel that comfortable talking for right now we are getting what we want out so that is good.
Each one of us now needs to write a paragraph for each other. It will be interesting.
Have any of you guys told your psychologist, though DID isn't the main reason you are there?

We met our new T once...only because we ran out of money and it was only an interview... And we dumped it all on her. We were a gusher of information on expresso- the good, the bad, and the embarrassing. After all, what good can come out of hiding anything in trying to get help. Besides, she don't want to mess with the others...or we'll just clam up at the first hint of flakiness on her part and she would be so fired.

She was a note taking fool though. After a lifetime of seclusion and hiding, we just weren't getting any better...we were our own worse enemy. You don't know how bad I wished that we would've got help 20 years ago when we were in our early 20's at least....or even teen years.

We need to go all out or not at all.

no I didnt have to, simply because the nature of the disorder and therapy with the psychologist it was just an automatic thing where I would dissociate during sessions. therefore my psychologist saw it for himself.

example..

P...hi amanda how are you today?
Me... this week is a good week.
P ...tell me about your week?
Me ... in a nut shell I went to work, and had family time. At work this week I was mainly dealing with one of my clients who was in the court system.
P...did you win the case as they say.
Me...if you can call it that. the abuser is in jail after causing a ruckus in court
P. what kind of ruckus.
Me (thinking back and starting to get triggered because this case reminds me of a past event in my life) he started yelling at the victim then (switch to rainy I take on rainy's mannerisms, voice behaviors and continue talking)
P...(noticing the changes) Amanda? are you ok? Amanda lets take abreak for a moment....

P Amanda do you realize you dissociate?
M yes lol I do
P ...there is a mental disorder I think we need to discuss....Have you ever thought about DID?
M. dont worry doctor... I know I have it I was diagnosed in.....

my point therapy has a way of bringing up hard topics hard emotions triggers which results in a person with DID dissociating to many different levels including switching personalities.

i started seeing my psychiatrist more because of panic attacks/anxiety, severe depression, self harm/suicidal ideations, etc. and severe dissociation. i spent the first maybe four years not saying much, sometimes bringing in journal entries for her to read that explained how things were internally. i do not remember at what point i told her i was hearing them/talking to them, knew them, etc. but at another point, i recall bringing in pictures of when i was young, two of which i could see two of the others in, but i don't know if i told her that or not.

as years went on, it was more about just symptoms i was struggling with because in my case, the others have been more in the background (as in not taking over and disrupting things in that way) but affected/affect me thought and emotion wise, sometimes severely, but stopped in recent years being close so i can feel who is who, etc. so now, it has become more complicated for me.

i try now to talk about them...but it gets a bit strange. sometimes they will talk through me when i'm at a session. not sure if my psychiatrist has ever picked up on it though...scared to ask
