so i've now read on wikipedia the actual story of what happens in the movie, and we are having second thoughts about watching this

is it triggering would you say?

when you watched it, how did you do with it

maybe it's because we're a little triggered this afternoon from watching a girl on tv who had multiple personalities (well 1 other), but i'm not sure.. 3 faces of eve suddenly does not sound apealing at all

there is some triggering parts in it. short version the whole movie dated back in 1957 is therapy sessions between "eve" "eve white" and "Eve Black" based on what was believed to be DID back in 1957, Alters dying, alters trying to murder the daughter and other things and therapy techniques that are no longer believed to be DID, happen with DID and have since been discontinued as therapy approaches due to the over the course of 50-60 years of developing research and knowledge of the disorder have changed.

if you decide to watch it a good way would be with your treatment provider so that they can go through the movie with you and explain how whats in the movie and how it pertained to the 1950' and 1060's.

Sorry, I've never watched it.

It's like everyones system is different and to watch it would make me feel like I'm being a wimp.

I feel them kinds of movies are just to make money like a carney.

I'd rather watch real documentaries on mental illness other than hollywoods sensationalized version.

I can't but help to feel that a bit of it is dramatized and exaggerated for a made for movie/t.v.

Please don't let this stop you, but I tend to like go "yeah right" and change the channel.

Maybe popcorn would make a diff?

i watched it a little while ago, cant really remember too much about it though.. i think that it wasn't as interesting as i thought it would be, but i dont remember anything like too bad in it.. feels like it was incomplete story maybe, but i feel the same way about all movies really.. about them being sensationalized to catch the viewers attention

i watched it just because i was bored, dunno why i spend time doing that stuff if i can never remember afterwards though.. guess its good to pass time with anyway

it was a month ago though i think so its pretty fuzzy..
i wouldn't watch it for like information on anything but maybe just watch it if your bored

part of the reason i want to watch it is because it's so popular.

you know.. in sted of people asking have you watched 3 faces of eve, have you watched it yet, when are you going to watch it, why not just watch it?

so that's why.

and ugg i'm with you on memory when it comes to watching stuff

in reality i must have watched over 200 movies

how many i can actually remember?. maybe 3 or 4..

I don't watch movies or tv at ll because there are too many triggers. I have quite enough triggers in real life!

I bring up alters and we don't dissociate who ever is watching the movie....If I'm out of it triggered then I allow my feelings to dictate cause I don't want to keep hurting from past experience...When I come out it and is okay, I can actual give it a full review the good the bad from each in the system with not only talking about the sensationalism also what went right in the movie for some of us.
