Hi! I've been in therapy for many years, mostly to heal from abuse, over the top depression/anxiety, and DID.

I'm finally living in a safe place with a job I can handle, have two great T's for support, and am learning to cope with previously out-of-control emotions.

My current big struggle is that I'm not yet ready for face-to-face relationships, so isolation is a daily pain. I'm here to work on reaching out to people in a way that feels safe.

Who else posts on this board frequently? What's your quick intro?

welcome. or should I say welcome back since one of your past posts say you were on psych central for years then life got in the way and now you are back...

since you are not new to psych central i wont go into my usual on how to find each members profile that tells a bit about each person. like if you visit my profile you will see that my basic intro is...

I am a wife, mother, lesbian and treatment provider in my off the computer location.

not sure how long ago you were here and which boards you visited then so a bit about me....

I have a past diagnosis of DID. when I came here it was on the recommendation of my therapist who felt I may find others at integration level of healing where my alters and I were in the process of merging together to become one whole person again). at that time there was no one and I was going to leave but a few members asked that I stay. I decided to stay to help others. i was in the unique position to have already been through some of the stuff other members were going through at that time time. in my culture we have a saying to help others is to help one self. I help where I can.

I no longer have a diagnosis of DDNOS among my list of present diagnosis. this is because in 2013 america discontinues that diagnosis label. here in america we now have many more individualized mental disorder labeling system. my present dissociative disorders are depersonalization \derealization disorder, dissociative amnesia, I also have problems related to what used to be called complex PTSD which due to the nation wide, discontinuing use of this label in 2013 got changed to Acute Stress Disorder. I also have bipolar disorder and MS (multiple Sclerosis)

I frequently post in this board plus other boards on the site too.

Hi woods girl....

I'm in and out but not so much anymore because we started a full time job and is in a routine. Idk...lately for awhile feeling runned down, hopeless, not giving a ****- bipolar depression bleeding through the meds I guess.

We too have isolated- our partner has seperated, have no friends in rl and FB, pushing our son away, shunned by family....just me and the chihuahua Cleo whose is blind now and can't run away like she used to.

I have a hard choice to make....lose job to get treatment and be homeless, or keep job and have a place to call home without treatment- presently we like eating and having a roof over our head.

Anyhow....this is our basic day to day life.....we are scared of relationships because they always go bad, and we feel like a blight to the living.

In addition, a lot of stuff we try posting is jarbled nonsense and our intelligence rises and falls with bipolar...besides, we have tons of censorship happening now. We delete 100x more than we post.

I'm so happy for you that you are doing so well, maybe one day we can, too. One has to have hope....and you are a shiny example of hope.

hi woods girl

i am not new to PC, joined back a few years ago, but have been more of a lurker all those years and i am now finally starting to come out a bit more recently. it has taken a very long time to actually post here on this forum because of my own fears, but now i am more comfortable with identifying as a 'multiple' and making a presence here does not scare me anymore.

welcome

Welcome woods girl. Hope you find the friendship and support that your looking for. Somtimes it can be difficult reaching out to others for fear of being hurt but I believe it's worth the risk.

Hello and welcome. It sounds as though you are making progress and taking steps forward. I am happy for you and wish you well on this phase of your journey.

In general, I am not the one in my system who posts here. This is my first day posting here. L.P. does show up here with some type of frequency though, and Veda has begun to do the same. I am unsure how to do a quick intro for them or myself for that matter, but I am safe in saying they would wish you a warm welcome as well.
