Anyone have different ideas about sleep within the system? What happens? Why it's needed? If you can or do not sleep? Is it a problem or comes naturally?
Curious what others experience.

i've been thinking alot about sleep lately... well honestly i have always thought a lot about it

i feel like i dont sleep... i just go to another world which drains more energy from me, i get no rest... stupid nightmares and weird dreams... makes me so tired
always so tired... unless i pass out from alcohol, then maybe i get some sleep...

Yes. Often sleep is just a place where I'm more aware of the strain of real life. I can only sleep well if I know I dont have to do anything for a while (say im on holiday for a week or so, I'll sleep well for the first 4 days of the holiday then the idea of going back to work starts kicking in and its like sleep is just another place to tell me how hard im finding everything)

i am not 100% sure i understand all the questions, but while i do sleep, it's not like i really sleep because dreams are so vivid and real that it feels like i'm still awake. i wake up exhausted because of the dreams being so busy since they usually involve either highly emotionally charged things or i spend a lot of time running from people, trying to help/save people, etc. and/or dissociated which affects me when i wake up at times and am still dissociated or the dreams emotionally affect me for a day too.

it is really difficult and a struggle to get a good sleep even without bad dreams. the other thing is waking up too much and not being able to get back to sleep/stay asleep.

i am trying to get off a med i've taken nightly for over a year. it has been okayish which is interesting...but my sleep isn't much better.

Thanks for all your answers. I think sleep is strange too. We're talking with T and told here sleep is just weird how it's a process to rest and the body resets kinda. I have bad insomnia. I too experience sleep as another world and is draining too.

my parts will sleep inside sometimes simply to recharge. they don't often sleep in the body. if they're around for longer than a day then they will. i lose a lot of sleep if i'm switching at night sometimes.
