This pic was posted at this site. My reaction was "THAT'S US". Exactly. Recently, something happened that I was told was medically impossible...by docs. This explains it! Sorry, I couldn't find it again to give a thankyou.Vampires

no its not medically impossible. I had a couple alters who's sense of agency was night functioning (be active or awake at night). my own treatment providers called this hypervigilance. short version in normal life when someone is traumatized by anything they naturally are very sensitive to noises, who is near them, startle reflexes and not sleeping. Add in having alters and you end up with what my treatment providers called dissociative alters who's job, purpose, reason for being created (now called sense of agency) is to stay awake and keep the body safe from nightly dangers.

how this worked in me... the dark was something that triggered my dissociation symptoms, in turn an alter would take control, spend the night reading, playing games, doing artwork, and other creative quiet activities or just lay there quietly with eyes closed listening for any changes in the normal nightly sounds that may signal someone was entering the bedroom, then the alter would sit up, or jump out of bed.

even now that my alters are integrated with me I still have nights where I am active and hypervigilant. it comes with my dissociative problems, my PTSD problems, my depression problems and my bipolar disorder.
