I'm just wondering if anybody has experienced their altars dreaming and it felt like a dream that you had of your own. I've been aware of one of my alters my entire life but I recently put a face to it and know that he is a teenage boy. I had a dream the other night that I was a teenage boy and I've never experienced a dream before that I can remember where I was anyone other than myself. Is it possible that this was a dream my altar was having but I was experiencing it through him has anybody else ever had this experience?

That is a very interesting thought. I don't know. In the dream world we are all the same personality, maybe. REM dream state is the same state a person goes into under hypnosis. I believe that our alters live in this hypnotic type state. From my experience, when I switch, I believe that I am switching in and out of hypnotic states without control. When a person comes out of a hypnotic state, automatic amnesia occurs and that person does not remember what he said or did while in the hypnotic state. This phenomena is described in a book titled: Sleep Talking: Psychology and Psycho-physiology by Dr. Authur Arkin. It describes that the personality under hypnosis is not the same as the normal conscious personality. Hopefully scientists and mental health professionals will tie dissociation with hypnotic states. This may help them heal us.
Thanks for this!

Yes, we all have our own dreams. It used to happen more when I was younger & got better quality of sleep. Now with progressed chronic illnesses, I don't get as deep a sleep as I used to.
