i have a problem with memory. i found pink fluorescent gauze in my purse that i didn't put there and no one else would (i don't have a use for it anyways). they would've just set it in my room. sometimes my instagram saved has things in there that i don't remember saving (not gonna lie, they're sponebob memes). ill go to open my soda, but it's already open and i don't remember doing it. today i came into my room and my stuffed animal was sitting on my bed. i don't remember putting it there and why would anyone else? it was sitting on top of my desk (to tall for the kid that i live with to reach and im sure if she did, she would put it back out of fear of being caught in someone's room). does anyone else have a similar issue?
anytime i think about it, i feel really weird and out of place. |

maybe seeing a therapist would be a good first step?
I think seeing a therapist is always appropriate. |

I cant tell you whether these problems you posted are things you need to see a doctor for or not. What I can tell you is that ..........in me....... I did not worry about memory problems sch as you posted. in me these were called normal. the reason my treatment providers called these things normal in me was that even normal people with no mental problems forget things add that to my locations definition of what dissociative memory problems are... they go beyond what is normal, cant be explained by any other mental or physical or medicinal reasons and they are directly related to my dissociation.... let me give you an example.... if I forgot I opened a new beverage my treatment provider would ask me what was the trigger, how did I feel mentally and physically before and after the memory problem, how does this opening the beverage relate to one of my triggers..... in other words memory problems with dissociative disorders are a very special kind and my treatment providers were assessing whether the forgotten event was dissociative or normal. Another thing that complicated things for me was that I was on medication which had side effects that cause memory problems. another complication in trying to figure out my memory problems was the fact that I had physical health problems that cause memory problems. my suggestion is if this continues to bother you talk with your treatment providers. they will be able to tell you whether any of your meds and health issues are part of your memory problems. they can also assess whether these situations you posted are related to your dissociative problems or normal. |

It is a familiar problem if it becomes problematic make sure you stay informed on what is important, so you don't over buy and go crazy about.

is there somthing that has occurred in the last year and a half ? increased stress? when i am stressed out i will lose time and forget things - find ive done stuff i didnt know i did - stress is my trigger - do you know what yours is? if you have one
also look to the normal answers - are you overtired? lack of sleep can do that to you - eating and drinking well ? taking good care of you ? good luck and seek help from a dr first if it becomes a problem
