Do people accuse you of having random reactions? Or worse...
A therapist (irl) said some unrepeatable things about me. He was a malignant N... but I don’t know what I “did to provoke him” ![]() ![]() I’ve edited this as I don’t want to be triggering. I wish some people showed others respect ![]() Not anyone here. Safe hugs to anyone who accepts them ![]()

Some therapists are just jerks and think they know it all and it's either their way or the highway with nothing in between. They go strictly by the book and don't allow for any individualism or variations from what they have been taught. They don't need to be provoked to spew their self-righteousness and judgments it's just who and how they are. Some have their own MH issues and shouldn't be practicing at all, especially when they claim to know it all but are unable to help themselves or able to control their own reactions.
I'm sorry you had things said about you. It's not you it's obviously that they are very unprofessional. |

Your post has me thinking Fuzzybear.Therapists or any professionals for that matter are just regular human beings. It's sad and unfortunate when they act like they are better or know it all or say bad things about people like what happened to you.
But,LOL,It made me think of the part of The Wizard of Oz movie when Toto pulls the curtain back and the Wizard of Oz realizes he's been found out and says over the loudspeaker "pay no attention to that man behind the curtain". I hope you get the analogy I am trying to make. Some therapists are the same as the Wizard of Oz,trying to convince others they are so mighty and powerful and knowledgeable yet behind the facade they are just a regular person and don't know **** and use their 'profession' to make themselves look and feel better. |

Sometimes but I learned the hard way to not show my symptoms of MH issues in front of other people. I get accused of being a liar and a fake

People are people regardless of degrees they are holding. If there were robot computers that can do therapy, I’d sign on in a heartbeat.
I have a tendacy to be critical and overthink every look, gesture, expression, sound, motion,..... that a person says or does. I hear that that is a trait of the abused. If people were machines and machines people.... I’m sorry for your situation.....it would just kill me to go through that...I do hope it gets better for you. |

Thanks everyone. Papa bear (my husband) just now said that I over think things. I also agree about characteristics of having been abused. I can relate. He doesn’t expect me to change that though. He doesn’t expect me to change who I am or magically snap out of (ugh) my MI and MH issues. Or to magically move on and ignore my truth. Or my grrrrr. Or my inner cub(s).. He knows I’ve been abused by the FOO, by so called mental health providers, and others. I don’t like to “burden” him (hate that word) with my pain and “issues”. Most of the time, he’s happy, so I’m doing something right.
I would also prefer a robot... or a teddy bear ..as a therapist (by far) than the therapists or doctors I’ve consulted grrr. They either just go by the book, with little or no creativity or they have a particular sort of mental illness (imo) or both.
