I chose this area because I keep blacking out I therapy and 'become' 5; blank, scared, and expecting to submerge my conscience.
I don't understand. It has something to do with school. When like that I create strange art.
Can anyone relate?

welcome....

no I did not go to the Waldorf School System. but my children at the moment do attend one. my children and I love it.

for those who do not know this kind of school system does not rely on students memorizing facts. the focus is on learning through experiencing. (instead of memorizing 2 plus 2 equals 4 the children participate in counting activities, instead of learning how to read music by memorizing they actually participate in making music, instead of memorizing poetry, and stories to learn poetry styles, parts of speech and parts of writing the students actually write poetry, stories using all the different elements of writing. instead of learning about painting from textbooks the students are actually painting using the different styles.)

the students are expected to using coping tools like breathing, relaxing, leaving stressful thoughts and focus their thoughts more on their gut feelings, clear their minds and use their imaginations. the sky is the limits not the school, not the teachers, the only limitations is whats in ones own mind.

so now back to your post are you asking us how you stop doing all this during therapy, how do you stop clearing your mind and doing what used to be expected of you during school... how to stay conscious instead of blanking your mind?

if this is what you are asking.... it takes hard work, but the same tools you learned in school is how you do it. instead of using your imagination breath, relax and focus on something outside yourself....then when you are fully grounded with a not blank mind tell your therapist what you are thinking.

No, I'm not. I'm searching for people who have been through the Waldorf system and share the same memories I do or after effects of the school turning children's minds inwards to the supposed higher thinking channel of Joseph Steiner.
BTW the school puts children terribly behind others because they lack in academics. Future attractions for your kids.
Anyway, you don't relate so that's that. Good day.

my children are actually in the higher not lower percentile with the state achievement tests that all school aged children in NY must take. they are learning academics just in a different way then they teach in public school system.

my children are learning academics just differently than other school systems. they are learning everything in "blocks" example dinosaurs. in the dinosaur block the children have to know their math skills in order to measure fossiils, make an asteriod, make carious types of dinosaurs, theres lots of adding, subtracting, multiplication and so on, they also have to be able to read and write in order to fill in their "lab papers", reports, writing out measurements, reading books on the dinosaurs, write stories about dinosaurs, they also have to know their science skills in regards to dinosaurs....

my point is you dont have to be afraid for my children. they are dong very will in the waldorf school system and are learning accademics and are in the top percentile on their achievement tests that the state of NY requires all students to complete every school year.

no I did not attend the school myself. so yea I guess your right I wouldnt have the same memories of school that you have.

I do have a suggestion though if you feel the school system you were in caused you to have some mental problems you can report them to your states department of education. they will take your statement and do an investigation. if the school did cause you harm, the state will take action to help you, and also prevent others from going through the same trauma that you went through.
