Any ideas how, who or yes?
Does or will it work (knowing about the DID)? We thrive in controlled environments like institutions. Or at like a job almost. |

I think you would probably be better off finding a therapist rather than a life coach.Besides, where I live a therapist would cost less.

I don't know if insurance would pay for a life coach, but they usually do pay for therapists

When I graduated from the University of Central Florida, I truly needed a mentor to manage my career. I know that the University had mentors for their scholarship students. But for most of us we had no one. I needed someone to help me plan and manage my career!!!! If I had that type of support, even with the dissociative disorder I would have been successful. I also would have been okay if I had had someone, like you say, to help me manage my life. My parents never talked to me about anything important. I did not know how to pick a spouse. I did not know how to manage my friendships. I did not know how to pick a career. I chose engineering and it was a mistake. In an ideal world, your parents are your mentors, life coaches, confidants, etc. etc. |

I got crappy insurance. Therapist would have to be out of pocket, but need to look into different insurance.

Why we need a life coach no idea thinking about it. I guess another part was wanting one.

I don't know much when it comes to life coaches. It could definitely be a benefit, as long as they're experienced with DID. I do agree that you should look into better insurance to get a therapist.

When I first started seeking help in 1992, after a divorce, I paid out of pocket. I did not want the charges put on my insurance plans because I did not know how my bosses would handle it. In retrospect I wish it had all come out in the open at work. Once I began trying to explain it to people I did not feel so guilty. |
