Why does the chatter tell lies? It often says I am hungry or sleepy when I am not. I actually dont ever feel those things because of something neurological. It also says things like after I take my cloziril which I have NEVER been on. Why lies?

Hmm, I don't know. How is it worded? Do they say "YOU are sleepy" or do they say "I" am sleepy? My alters mostly tell me what they want or feel rather than talk about me.

There's a difference between lying & alts having different truths.
For instance, one alt can be furious at someone even when you, yourself, feel no anger at all. It's not that that part is lying...it's just got a completely different truth, and you can't FEEL it, because it's not your truth. "I" (my body) might literally go through angry motions like stomping feet, etc., but without "me" internally FEELING the anger. (Someone feels it...I just can't ,because the barrier is too high.) Other times, I might literally feel an alt's feelings/"truth" even though it doesn't line up with my own feelings/truth. For example, I might feel literal emotional & physical pain & start crying when a little part is upset even when I, myself am not actually "feeling" the same way -- but I physically do feel their emotions/feelings in that time even while not mentally connecting with those emotions/feelings (they aren't "mine," but I can feel them). I think some people call that blending. It's kind of like different levels of co-consciousness I guess. The barriers aren't as high/thick with the "blending." And, it's not a hard-and-fast rule with specific parts - like, sometimes the barriers ARE high & thick with the little parts (I've experienced the body weeping in agony but "I" myself not feeling the things being expressed as I am pushed so far back & the barriers are too thick). And, sometimes, the barriers are lower with 13 & I can feel her feelings physically & emotionally even though they aren't mine. None of it is lying -- but I can totally see how it might come across as a lie when the barriers are really thick like that. |

So, what happens exactly? You hear "after I take my Cloziril" in your head?

They are thoughts. Yes, the thoughts said that. They also say things like I think I killed Irene (which I know no one named that) Hi Pippa, go to bed. Timmy, after dinner clouds, dumpster diving. All kinds of nonsense. |

So, maybe not all the thoughts are really Parts.
Dissociation can be kind of close to "Dreaming," and that can come with nonsensical everything -- ever catch the thoughts you have on the edge of sleep? Mine are completely nonsensical. Maybe it's something like that. I also have lots of nonsensical thoughts that flow through my mind when I'm dissociating. Kind of like rotating the dial through radio stations. There's no sense to it, and it's different than when my Parts have internal dialogue. It'll be blips of music/sounds, words/phrases/sentences - nonsensical, images, etc. no rhyme or reason. |

my point it that sometimes when I am hearing things its not related to any mental disorders. its just my brain replaying things I have heard. like when you hear a song and then part of that song just plays. theres actually a term for this. lots of normal names for this... echolalia, earworm, suggestion if I remember right your treatment providers have asked you to write down when this is happening and what is going on in your life when it is happening. so my suggestion is to do that, write down when you hear these things and then give them to your treatment provider. they will tell you what they are and how to stop them another suggestion sometimes chewing gum, getting a drink of water, or doing something physical like taking a walk or rowing my canoe around the lake stops these for me. |

You know it really doesn't sound like alter talk to me, because of the random things you hear and the fact that you only experience this when you are on the verge of sleep. It sounds more similar to hypnogogic hallucinations rather than dissociative alters.

I dont only hear it at night. Sometimes during the day but very rarely. Its rarely of the verge of sleep anymore but just when I am laying down resting with my eyes close but I am very awake. Sometimes it takes hours to fall asleep. That could just be random thoughts I guess. I just dont have that inner dialogue though like DID people explain. I do have a part though. I am aware when she comes but I am kind of back seat if that makes sense. Like I realize her emotions and facial expressions but then I am always like why did she think that horrible thing was so funny? Why was she excited. Then I feel bad for it. Thats why I dont want to integrate with her. She never speaks though. Even though I take the back seat with my emotions which are different when she comes out I am always aware of her like uh oh she is out. I dont remember as a child but my memory of childhood is very hazy but I do remember her from my 20s. |

Plenty of people with DID have no internal dialogue, so you're not alone there. Promise. Just like plenty don't have an inner world or have a very limited one. Lots of variety in this bunch.

No I have not googled those things and I dont watch much tv or listen to much music. I spend most of my time at the group home working at the desk and helping around here. I do that becsuse it keeps my away from most of the people here as they are not allowed behind the desk. |

I have another suggestion... when times get hard like this reread your past posts and focus your attention on the positives in the posts. another suggestion is please stop worrying about getting a diagnosis. the more you focus on that the more it deflects from your treatment. wondering if this may be an OCD sabotage treatment tactic, you have posted you have OCD obsessions and intrusive thoughts. right now you have a treatment provider you dont like available to you and a treatment provider you do like on vacation. its understandable that you would be stressed out and hearing these voices again or more louder, more prominent and your focusing on them given all the different disorders you have posted. I know that my OCD / psychosis stuff gets activated even more so when my treatment provider is unavailable. (keep in mind I cant say this is exactly what is going on only your own treatment provider can do that, this is just a guess based on what happens with me) my suggestion do what your treatment provider told you to do. write them down and bring them to therapy with you and discuss them with them instead of getting conflicting stuff online. We don't view it as lies. Picture it as a family of different age, experienced, knowledged member. A younger child might react to event by stomping feet & screaming, regular temper tantrum. Older child may pout, get depressed, becoming passive aggressive. Even older by realizing it's no big deal, will pass. No one is lying. Their experience different. One may just need a hug & their blanket to get over it. Another needs it explained. Another wants to totally ignore it, it will go away. There are so many possibilities. Makes life complicated!

If you want to get even more complicated -- internal dialogue is also normal in people without DID.
To be honest, while I have internal dialogue, I'm not entirely convinced it's really DID-related at all. |

Some Internal dialogue is normal. If someone is doing work with their alters and someone pops up and says go away what else would it be? |
