For anyone here who has alters (or whatever you feel comfortable calling them) and has had one (or more) integrate, what does the integration feel like? A weird sensation of someone suddenly disappearing? Is there a sense of loss and grief?

I had teenagers merge withone another...and i felt calmer, and later had a little one kinda disappear. ( they had made an announcment that they were all going into sleeping pods) the merged teenagers and the little one i have not had around for 4 years now. Not sure if the sleeping pods are even around as I do not sense or see them. The little one was hyper and i often felt extrememly tired with her around. i did feel like they were gone and did not mention much about them, however the little one played iwth my son a lot and he misses her and that made me sad though he understands she is a part of me but i cant seem to tap into her regardless of they "dont go away" Just my expereinces

I did feel a bit of a sense of loss and grief sometimes that I couldn't quite put my finger on. It took awhile to realize why though. Im sure integration is and can be different for each person. |

I have had a couple of alters integrate, and I didn't feel a sense of loss or grief. At the time it just felt "right". The two alters had been becoming increasingly coconscious for a while and we no longer needed them as separate alters. We remember who they were and honor them for all they did for us. There is a sadness about it too, but I wouldn't describe it as intensely as "grief". It was just right
