Hi,

I was wondering if this was a part of dissociation. I was in therapy last week. And I forget what topic we were discussing. Anyway, my vision started to go black. This hasn’t really happened before. Is this normal part of dissociation?
I have also been told that I seem to be looking through people.

It's impossible to say. It could be medical, it could be psychological. Could be many diifferent things. Personally I have never experienced things "going black" as part of my own dissociation, but have experienced that when I've been close to fainting.
Thanks for this!

I agree with Amyjay. Your therapist probably need to know more. When that's happened to me it's because an alter pushes hard fronting, which pushes me out. I find myself either in a black void or I lose consciousness. Usually when they push me into the void there's a white spherical light source which is the alter who's fronting, but that's only when I'm also close to the front. Otherwise I just lose consciousness. The only other time I've had my vision go black is when a teacher pushed so hard on my chest that my vision started to collapse into a tunnel.

I think I understand what you mean. I've had my "inner eye", inside my mind, go "black" when I dissociate. It's like I'm looking through a dark veil. Sometimes it does feel like I'm losing consciousness.
