I can't stand being so computer dumb. It makes me feel so stupid like a bag of dirt. It took me 5 minutes just to figger out how to write a stupid new thread. I can't make me an avatar picture and I can't figger out how to ask people to be my friends and contacts and i wanna ask lots of you to be my friends. but who wants to be friends with a dumb bag of dirt????

i know this place sposed to be nice and new and better and its driving me crazy, ok crazier I already been crazy and this is different. i dint get no sleeps las nite cos her kid sarah didnt sleep either and called leslie to talk almost 3 hours las nigt in middle of nite. i ned a mommy. only i am the mommy for them, not for me. i do not lik being dumb. computers are satan. evil, evil evil, evil, evil, feeling dumb makes me sad all over.

I've had a really hard time figuring the site out too. It's confusing!

You did a really good job when you sent me a PM!!! I got it and it made me REALLY happy after I came back from a sad session with T. I tried to PM you back but couldn't get it to work. So, you're not alone!

I am going to go and see what I do to ask people to be my friend and then I'll come back to this thread and tell you.

OK! So, to make a friend request. First click on their name next to one of their posts (I just clicked on your name on the post you just made to start this thread). It will say something like "add this person to your contacts". Click on that. Then it will say something like "send a friend request to this person?" - click on THAT - and you're done! Ta da!

I'm glad my pm made you feel a teeny bit better. Hard days are just no fun at all. I didn't sleep at all last night and I feel goofy tired and dumb. But I will get over that tonight I know.

I'm having the same problems. I don't know what I'm doing. Keep losing things. I got it so messed up the other day I couldn't read anything. Somehow I got all the letters messed up and they looked weird. I had to have someone IRL fix it for me. So don't get mad at yourself, your not alone.

I'm so sorry you are having a hard time with the new format. I don't think you're dumb at all. Everything is different here. It's understandable that it would be confusing to you.

One thing that helps me is when I am making a post is highlighting the post and copy it to my clipboard (Just go to edit -> copy). That way if something happens, I can paste it back into a new one if I lose it.

Well to actually add a picture you'll need this link: http://forums.psychcentral.com/profi...editprofilepic which lets you get a picture (avatar) either from your computer, or from another website.

If you have a picture on your computer, you'll need to know where it is saved to be able to link to it, and it will have to be the right size too. There are programs around which re-size pictures for you to the right size.

Otherwise I think the best thing is to look at sites which host avatars. In the past I have used http://www.avatarity.com/ which has a lot of avatars and even resizes them if needed. Or, you could try posting in the Technical Support forum and asking other people where they get their avatars from. Somebody might be kind enough to volunteer to make one for you

I'm having a hell of a time working this sight out myself. Not having a computer & doing it all by phone dosen't help either. Anyway problems with computers does not meen a persons dumb for they are infuriating things to work with.
