This is something small. A recap for some. I have a wonderful husband, but I wish he would get to know more 'bout "me" as in my dissociation. He knows as much as he needs to. He fulfills everything else so to me this is small, even though I truly wish he would be more of a participant in my therapy.
Sun. night we were on our computer. We have 2 mouses (mice? meeses?) hooked up, one for him, the regular kind you move w/ your wrist. Then mine which is ergonomical 'cos of my carpal (you move it w/ your thumb). He was making a little joke 'bout how the 2 are hooked up & while he was moving them both around was saying, Now your alters can fight over who has the mouse... Or something like that. But what caught my attention was the word he used. He hardly ever talks 'bout my people or alters. They're here but they're not so different from me that people can tell you know. So when he made that comment, my heart stopped, in a good way. Later on I thanked him. Told him it meant a lot to me. This reminds me of another incident but I'll save it for another time.
Just something little I wanted to share.
Love,
RhysMadison

RhysMadison,

It must be wonderful to have that kind of support. I hope you and he can keep this going.

Take care.

I don't think that is small at all! Bless you for sharing RhysMadison.

We need to hear more positive stories of functioning in this world with DID. We're not circus freaks and this is a beautiful example of how we can feel less odd and more accepted.

I'm really happy to have read this sweetie. For me inside there is a love/hate with being acknowledged. Works for some.......other.....meh. understanding

Give hubby some hugs from us for being good to you!! understanding All of you being treated with respect is a wonderful thing.
