As requested by the members, a supportive place for folks with dissociative disorders (such as DID, also known as multiple personality disorder).

This is a support forum, so discussion about whether or not DID or other dissociative disorders exist are not appropriate here.

Best,
DocJohn

Yes, thank you DocJohn! If we see anyone who is being obviously unsupportive or unkind, I think it's best to not be drawn into debate since that will just give them more opportunity to cause trouble. IHMO, it would be best to simply report obvious offenders to the moderators by sending a PM to the moderators.

Thanks again DocJohn! emmy

Hi jj and fgh,

I didn't answer that other thread because I do not come to a board to have people ridicule my dx. I don't inquire deeply about their anxiety or OCD issues but people feel perfectly justified in grilling me all about dissociation and ego states and alters so on and so on.

Whew. I think that was on my chest for a while. I'm not able to be online much currently so that is why I'm not posting much but I wanted to let you know that I saw your post to me and here I am!

Take care of y'all.

kindly,

HI, I'M NEW TO DID AS WELL AS TO HERE. I HAVEN'T BEEN OFFICIALLY DX'D WITH DID YET BUT, I KNOW THAT I AM DID SO IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME - I GUESS.

WHAT'S INVOLVED IN RECEIVING THIS DX AND DOES ANYONE RELATE TO HEARING INNER VOICES? IF YOU HAVE ANY INFO TO SHARE I'D APPRECIATE IT!

IN THE MEANTIME HELL0 TO YOU ALL AND THAT DOES MEAN EVERYONE...!

Welcome to psychcentral!

I don't hear inner voices, but I know a LOT of people in this forum probably do. You've found the right place!

You may want to start your own thread rather than just posting on the end of this one. I think you might get more responses that way. Do you know how to do that yet?

I hope you'll like it here, and feel safe and supported! Welcome!

Angela

Hi Doc, I have had a dissasociative fugue once before about 30 years ago. I can feel myself teetering on the brink now, & don`t know what to do. Psychiatric help for non-psychotics is not available here for any price I could afford. I only found your site tonight, thank you for caring.

Hi DocJohn, hi Everyone,

Thanks so much for having this place. when we first came it was too hard to outwardly admit that we had DID so it was too difficult to reply here.

anyways we're always late,
Thanks for having somewhere to go for support,
kerria

Hi Dr John,
I just wanted to thank you for establishing this website. I have been suffering from major depression for 22 years. I recently changed my psychiatrist, who suspects that I have borderline personality disorder. Also, my mom told me that I was tested when I was around four or five years old and the result was that I was a sociopath but anyways thank you again from the bottom of my heart. I learned something new today.
